๐Ÿ“ข Taproom Update from 3 Trails Brewing

As many of you know, the colder months and Dry January can be especially tough on small businesses like ours. Combine that with the tough economy we are in and we are having to make some tough decisions. After some hard conversations and reflection, weโ€™ve made the decision to stop operations in our taproom and focus our energy on growing our distribution.

Making this decision was certainly not easy but we have to do our best to be fiscally responsible during tough times. This means that the tap room is no longer open to the public and will be closed for private events.

As part of this change, the TrailBlazer Pass program has been put on hold, and all early access members and any affected event partners have been notified.

Weโ€™ll keep everyone updated right here on social media about what's going on and when we'll reopen and what to expect.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support. It means everything. Find our products across the Metro and let us know where you want to see us distribute to next.

Today we are heartbroken to share that our dear friend and partner Joe has passed away.

Joe was one of the most kind and giving humans we have ever known. Giving was his love language. Sharing was his love language. Joe was the type of person who would finish a shift in the kitchen, gather any leftover food, and personally take it to homeless individuals on his drive home just to make sure they had something to eat. Joe cooked turkeys on Thanksgiving just to give out to the homeless. He would give you his last dollar if he knew you were in need. His heart for people and for this community was immense, and we truly believe the world lost an angel today.

Joe was a dear friend of ours and mine. He opened his home and his family to me when I was new to Kansas City more than ten years ago. He never knew a stranger, he was always quick with a dad joke, and he made everyone around him feel seen and cared for. He is survived by the love of his life, Emily, and his three young children. Our hearts are with them as they begin to navigate an unimaginable loss.

Because of this loss, the taproom will be Closed to the public tonight. From 4:00 until about no later than 7:00 p.m., we will be at the brewery together as a small team to grieve, share a beer, and honor Joe. If Joe meant something to you personally and you would like to mourn with us, please reach out and you are welcome to stop by (something more formal will come in the future). This will not be a normal shift. Our doors will remain locked, it will be informal, and our focus will simply be on honoring a man we deeply loved.

We ask that instead of supporting Family Friday this week, you consider donating to Joeโ€™s GoFundMe to help Emily and the kids as they face the many challenges ahead. This family deserves the full support of the community Joe gave so much to.
We are still processing and are unsure what our hours will look like for the rest of the weekend. Please stay tuned as we take the time we need to grieve and figure out what comes next.

Thank you for your love, your prayers, and your understanding.

Hey TrailBlazers, we wanted to share an update on a familiar face to many of you, and a friend of ours.

Joe has been facing a serious health situation involving multiple surgeries and is currently on a ventilator. The road ahead will be challenging, and the medical bills alone will be significant.

We ask that you please keep Joe and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this time. For those who are able, any contribution, no matter the size, to his GoFundMe would help support him and his loved ones as they navigate whatโ€™s ahead.
We appreciate our community for always showing up with care and support when it matters most. โค๏ธ

Join us in cheering Joe on as he is on his path to recovery.
