Apparently, according to a new client Brian sheared for yesterday, we lack communication skills and alpaca/sheep community in Michigan is tight knit and will make sure everyone knows how poorly we communicate. All because they thought we would be charging what their previous alpaca shearer charged last year, even though it was clearly stated.

So in light of this, we would like to hear from you on how we can better communicate with you all, in our prices, what is needed to make shearing run smoothly and how to get on our schedule.

The green and purple beans are coming in nicely! We will have 1/2 bushels available starting in mid July through early September!

This is Erika, I will not be available from tonight through Friday, as I have our oldest away at football camps this week. If you are needing scheduling for shearing, I will be able to answer you on Saturday morning.

Brian is busy shearing, planting and taking the youngest son to baseball, he is not available either.

Green beans are sprouting nicely! Thank goodness for some rain last night. Looking to be filling 1/2 bushels, and quarts of them next month!

New World Screwworm has made it to Texas. As a precaution, the Office the Kentucky State Veterinarian has issued an IMMEDIATE policy on the transport of animals from Texas to Kentucky.

With shearing coming to a close here in the next few weeks. We will be reevaluating our operations and prices. We have not raised our prices in over 5 years. And given that shearing equipment, has gone up between 25%-50% in the last 18 months, plus gas prices, food for Brian on the road, vehicle maintenance repairs, and hotel costs, we will have to raise our site fee and our per head prices starting this fall.

We did NOT raise our prices after February 28th this spring, because we had already quoted everyone our prices, and ate the fuel cost. Unfortunately, we cannot do that this fall, and for next spring, we will have to SLIGHTLY raise our prices.

Otherwise, we will not be able to continue shearing in the future.

For those shearing this fall, we will let you know this July when we start scheduling. And for the spring, we will let you know at the beginning of January when we start scheduling.
