Hi! It's been a hot minute since I've been on here. Last summer got away from me between travel to see family, illness, and then my sister's beautiful wedding in Ohio.
When I got back from Ohio the chickens busted out of my chicken run and after having repaired in a MULTITUDE of times, I was over it. I had already reached out to a few companies to build a new run for me but no one responded. My hand was forced and I had to build it myself (and the help of my awesome FIL) but regardless, I -really- didn't want to do it.
But alas, the girls were literally "cooped up" for a month and I was bad about collecting eggs. Then once the run was completed, they molted. After that they slowly came back into laying regularly. The issue then was it was December and I was overwhelmed with the holidays and collecting eggs just wasn't on my priority list.
Mid January I finally started collecting regularly but didn't do anything further. My plate was still full of projects, school cancelations, and personal road blocks. Its been a challenging time but after all that, I can finally say I've caught up. The eggs are collected, packaged, and going out to the fridge (unwashed because your girl's taking baby steps here for her sanity).
But also, I have more than will fit. So my egg prices are dropping to $5 permanently but the current batch I have will be discounted to $3 a dozen. Enjoy and stay safe on the roads.
