Wise Acres is a family-owned u-pick USDA-certified organic farm in Indian Trail, NC, just outside of Charlotte. We grow the best products using only natural methods to ensure the healthiest and most delicious produce for family, friends, and the environment. Starting in early spring we open the farm for nursery plants starts and then follow with u-pick organic strawberries, organic blueberries, su

nflowers, and end with pumpkins in the fall. We care very much about what and how we grow and we are confident that you will love our berries. But we also want your experience on the farm to be fun that you and your family will remember. We are always trying new ways to engage and entertain you and your family. Wise Acres is a place to unplug, play, and relax. When you need a break from picking, playing, activities, and visiting the animals, head to the barn for slushies and other delicious real treats. We are very excited for the future of Wise Acres and for new opportunities to engage, support, and grow with the land and community we love.

While picking breakfast berries - I was shocked at the number of flowers this late in the season. That means we will still have strawberries well into June. They will overlap with the blueberries that we are anticipating will start around June 10.

Our weekday u-pick sessions are currently full (still some open pizza/limited picking reservations next weekend). Please check back on our website next week for information about our anticipated June blueberry/sunflower/strawberry reservation schedule. Thanks.

In a typical season, we are not seeing many open flowers this late in May. However with the cooler spring, the flowers are still open and welcoming pollinators like this lady. The season has not seen the usual production peaks, but looks to be slow, delicious and continue into June.

The next set of reservations will be released on May 26.

We should have updates on blueberries soon.

Today, April 21 at 5:00pm - new reservations. When sign-ups first open, the site gets a bit crowded. If you see an error message, don’t worry—the site is just temporarily jammed from the rush. If you’d rather skip refreshing, it’s best to check back a little later once things settle down.

Recent temperature swings and prolonged drought have slowed ripening, so we’re starting with fewer reservations than usual. As the weather stabilizes and field production picks up, we’ll release more spots. This season has been tough to predict, and we truly appreciate your patience and support as we try to navigate.

Berries love this warm dry sunny weather. They have started ramping up production (and flavor).

Reservations for this opening weekend are full but the next weekend reservation opens April 21 and there are many more pizza/picking weekends ahead. Check our website for release date schedules and info.

Last-minute picking reservations will start popping up more and more over the next few weeks as the plants take off. After we wrap up school field trips and scheduled pickers, we walk the field. If it still has plenty of ripe berries we open spots. When available, the last minute picking sign-ups are at the top of our homepage so every easy to see. We take them down when full.

We are excited that this season is officially starting!

Fertilizing today. Just like bodies, hungry plants need nutrients for health and immunity and we feed them the good stuff!

All current reservations are full. The plants are still very small and the season is just starting. We were surprised to be picking this early - so yay for that. Much more to come! Please check our website for future release dates and “last-minute” picking opportunities.

The GreenHouse next door at 5503 Poplin is now open Thur-Sun from 4:00-8:00pm. No picking, but you can go and find plants to take home to your garden. If you need a spring break getaway come out for plants, Wise Acres eggs, honey, Waxhaw Creamery ice cream, beer, wine, outdoor TVs, a small playground and Mama goat with her 1 month old baby. No farm but still plenty of outdoor fun. Check The GreenHouse page on our website for details. Thai and pizza starting there soon!
