Whether you're celebrating Dad, remembering a father who is no longer with us, honoring a mentor, being a father yourself, or simply enjoying a beautiful June weekend, we hope you find a reason to celebrate. And what better way to celebrate than with cheese? Need a few cheesy ways to celebrate? Lettuce give you a few ideas...just keep reading!

Catch Us on WISH-TV Tomorrow Morning!

Be sure to tune in to WISH-TV between 6:00 and 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning! Thanks to our partnership with Indiana Grown - Patty will be joining the morning show to talk about our fresh summer cheeses and demonstrate the art of stretching fresh mozzarella. If you've ever wondered how those beautiful, creamy mozzarella balls are made, you won't want to miss it!

Cheesy Ways to Enjoy the Weekend

-Build a cheese board and share it with friends and family.

-Pair your favorite Tulip Tree cheese with a local beer, wine, or sparkling water.
-Pack a picnic and head outdoors.
-Treat yourself to a cheese-filled brunch.
-Drop by a farmers market and stock up for your Father's Day gathering.

And for those who are lactose intolerant—don't let that stop the fun! Many aged cheeses naturally contain very little lactose, and lactase tablets can help keep the good times rolling. Just don't forget to bring them along!

Congratulations, Class of 2026!

To all of the Spring 2026 graduates, congratulations on this incredible accomplishment!

We wish you a future filled with amazing experiences, lifelong learning, meaningful connections, and of course... plenty of great cheese.

Whether you're heading off to college, starting a new career, traveling the world, or exploring what's next, we're cheering you on every step of the way.

May your future be as rich and rewarding as a perfectly aged wheel of Nightshade cheese!

Open House Season Is Here!

Still planning graduation parties, open houses, family gatherings, or summer celebrations?

A beautiful cheese board is one of the easiest ways to impress your guests while supporting local dairy farmers during Dairy Month.

Laura's Tips for Building a Beautiful Cheese Board

Start with 3–5 different styles of cheese:
• A hard cheese (such as Nightshade or Marigold or Milkweed)
• A semi-soft cheese (like Dutch Tulip or Hops)
• A fresh cheese (Fromage Frais is always a crowd favorite!)
• Add a bloomy-rind cheese like Trillium for variety (and decadence)

Include foods that complement the cheese:
• Charcuterie (cured meats) for savory flavors
• Fresh fruit and dried fruit for sweetness
• Jams, honey, or preserves to balance salty notes (my favorite is lemon curd on our Trillium)
• Nuts for crunch and texture
• Crackers, breads, and crostini for serving - perhaps a loaf of local bread?

Don't forget the finishing touches!
• Fresh herbs
• Greenery from your yard
• Edible flowers
• Wildflowers (or even a bright yellow dandelion)

We truly eat with our eyes first. A few simple touches can transform a cheese plate from ordinary to extraordinary. Zhuzh it up! Give it a try and see the difference.

June Is Dairy Month

June is National Dairy Month, making it the perfect time to celebrate the hardworking dairy farm families who produce the milk that becomes your favorite cheeses, butter, yogurt, and ice cream.

Every purchase of locally made cheese helps support family farms, local food production, and small businesses throughout our community.

This month, challenge yourself to:
• Try a new cheese
• Build a beautiful cheese board
• Visit a local dairy farm - (Such as Ayrshire Farms in Greentown, Indiana -- that's where we get some our milk)
• Share your favorite cheese with a friend

Let's celebrate dairy in the most delicious way possible!

June Celebrations

June gives us several reasons to celebrate! As cheesemakers, National Dairy Month is a chance for us to recognize the incredible dairy farmers whose hard work and dedication make our cheeses possible.

It's also Pride Month, a time to celebrate community, kindness, and the freedom to be yourself. We're grateful for the wonderful people who support Tulip Tree Creamery and help create a welcoming community around good food, good conversation, and great cheese.

For Father's Day skip the tie and give Dad what he really wants—cheese! Pick up his favorites at the farmers markets this weekend or let us ship a cheese gift directly to his door. Whether he's a fan of creamy Trillium, bold Foxglove, or rich Nightshade, we've got something he'll love.

Need Ideas for Using Cheese?

One of the questions we hear most often is: "I love your cheese, but what should I do with it?" So, we've put together a llist few of our favorite ways to enjoy our cheeses...let us know if you decide to try one of them and please share photos!!

Breakfast:
My number one go-to is adding our cheese to an omelet or sprinkling shredded cheese on top of eggs right before serving.

Gluten Free Pairing:
Use a slice of an apple instead of a cracker and top with our Larkspur Blue (or your favorite cheese) and a drizzle of local honey

Fromage Frais:
Spread on a bagel
Serve over roasted vegetables
Pair with cooked or smoked salmon

Decadent Mac & Cheese:
Combine shredded Milkweed and Blazing Star for an incredibly rich and creamy homemade mac and cheese.

Burgers & Grilled Cheese - Hops and Larkspur...
Melt on burgers
Layer into grilled cheese sandwiches

Fonsdue - Warm it gently and enjoy...
With corn chips
Drizzled over tacos
As a quick appetizer for summer gatherings

Mozzarella Tip
I always keep a ball of mozzarella in the freezer. When pizza night rolls around, I simply pull it out and shred it while still frozen. It melts beautifully!

Can Cheese Be Frozen? Yes!
If you won't finish your cheese before it passes its peak flavor, freeze it. The texture may change slightly after thawing, but it's still excellent for cooking, baking, soups, sauces, casseroles, and pizza.

Thank you for supporting local farmers, local food, and local cheese.
We look forward to seeing you at the markets this weekend!
Stay Cheesy!

05/22/2026

As we head into Memorial Day weekend, we wanted to wish everyone a safe, relaxing, and delicious holiday. Whether you're firing up the grill, heading to the lake, gathering with family, or settling in to watch the Indy 500, we hope your weekend is full of good company—and even better cheese.

When it comes to race-day snacks, cheese is the clear pole-position winner. Why? It’s the perfect grab-and-go fuel: no prep stops needed, pairs beautifully with just about everything, and keeps your snack game running at top speed. From a creamy bite of Trillium to the bold finish of Nightshade, cheese is the MVP of every charcuterie board, picnic basket, and cooler.

Need a few reasons cheese should be on your holiday starting grid?

🏁 Fast Fuel – Packed with protein to keep your engines running all weekend long.
🏁 Perfect Pit Stop Snack – Easy to slice, share, and snack between race laps and backyard games.
🏁 A Crowd Favorite – Cheese always takes the checkered flag at any gathering.
🏁 Pairs with Everything – Crackers, burgers, fresh fruit, your favorite beverage—you name it.
🏁 No Yellow Flags Here – There’s no wrong way to enjoy cheese.

Rookie Celebration at the Speedway

This week, we had the chance to attend the annual Rookie Celebration at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that was sponsored by The American Dairy Association of Indiana —and we were excited for so many reasons.

First, it’s one of our favorite events because it puts milk in the spotlight!

Did you know the tradition of the Indy 500 winner drinking milk dates back to 1936, when race car driver Louis Meyer asked for a bottle of buttermilk after his victory? The moment became iconic, and ever since, milk has been offered to every winner in Victory Lane.

One of our favorite small-world connections is that Louis Meyer’s grandson, Scott, is a family friend, and I’m lucky enough to catch up with him and his wife, Cara, each year at this event. It’s such a fun reminder of how connected our worlds of dairy and racing really are—and now we’re all wondering… which milk will be chosen by this year’s winner?

We were also especially excited to see our Trillium on the cheese table, beautifully topped with truffle honey—such a delicious and elegant way to present it. The creamy, tangy cheese paired with the earthy sweetness of the honey was truly a winning combination. Kudos to the chef who decided on that pairing—it may have been one of our favorite presentations of Trillium yet!

05/13/2026

Hello cheese friends!

Spring market season is officially here, and we’re excited to be back out seeing so many familiar faces (and meeting plenty of new ones too). This week is full of fresh starts—new markets, new cheeses, and a wonderful new retail partner we’re excited to introduce. Does anyone recognize the park in the photo above?

New Customer of the Week:
Tuttle Orchards, Greenfield, Indiana

We’re thrilled to welcomeTuttle Orchards in Greenfield as a new Tulip Tree Creamery retail partner!

Tuttle Orchards has been a beloved Indiana destination since 1928 and is now in its 4th generation of family ownership - that’s an incredible 98 years of farming and serving our community.

If you stop in, there’s a good chance you’ll meet James, who has been with Tuttle for 14 years. He started as seasonal fall help and now serves as co-manager of the farm store while also running their greenhouse each spring. We loved hearing how thoughtful they’ve been about expanding their specialty local food offerings, especially their cheese selection.

Another of their co-managers, Heather, is a long-time supporter of ours.
Tuttle was looking to expand into more aged and harder cheeses with longer shelf life, so they’ll be carrying a variety of Tulip Tree cheeses, with plans to grow the selection over time. They also proudly support other local food producers, including Risin Creek goat cheese and Rhim’s meats, and focus heavily on sourcing Indiana-grown and Indiana-made products whenever possible.
Beyond the cheese case, Tuttle Orchards is much more than an orchard:
-Over 200 acres and more than 5,000 apple trees
-Fresh local strawberries (coming soon)
-A huge fall destination with pumpkins and family activities
-A greenhouse full of seasonal plants
-A café and bakery
-Local produce they grow themselves or source nearby

And the best part? They’re only about 30 minutes from downtown Indianapolis (4o minutes from us), making it the perfect day trip.

Hours: Monday–Saturday, 9 a.m.–6 p.m. (Closed Sundays)

We’re also planning a Tulip Tree sampling day at Tuttle Orchards this June or July, likely on a Saturday when their summer produce is in full swing so, stay tuned!

We’ve got some fun seasonal favorites headed your way:
**Dutch Tulip Chermoula**

Beer + Mustard Fonsdue
Always a crowd favorite—rich, creamy, and ready to heat and enjoy.

Dutch Pudding - this week’s flavors:
• Chocolate
• Butterscotch

Market Updates

We’re excited to kick off a few markets this week:

We’re back! Join us this Thursday (5/14) for our first Statehouse Market of the season. After this week, we’ll be there every other Thursday.

Zionsville Farmers Market
Our first Zionsville market of the season starts this weekend! We’re excited to be back in one of our favorite communities, just up the road.

We’re Hiring for Farmers Markets

If you (or someone you know) enjoys talking to people, sampling delicious cheese, and being part of the happiest corner of a farmers market, we’d love to hear from you.
We’re looking for folks who can work every weekend or every other weekend.

Perks include:
• A fun, upbeat market environment
• Finishing your workday around 2 p.m.
• And yes… the 50% off cheese perk is very real.

There’s something oddly satisfying about waking up early, working a lively market morning, and feeling like you’ve accomplished something before most people have finished brunch.

Check out the “Join Our Team” (https://www.tuliptreecreamery.com/about-us/join-our-team/) page on our website if you’re interested.
