Bochner Farms LLC We are a little flower farm with a big heart. We are a small, family-owned flower farm in central Iowa.

We grow specialty cut flowers as well as a wide variety of unique daylilies on our family-owned farm in central Iowa.

The salidago is going to be in full bloom soon. The variety we have planted is “Romantic Glory” and it’s this soft buttery yellow, so pretty. I kinda wish I would have planted some dahlias in this garden too, for even more poppin’ color. So, I will make a note to do that next year. ✏

Do you keep garden notes so you can track what you liked and didn’t like during the season? So you can plan accordingly for the next season? I find it so helpful and keep lots of notes throughout the year. Then I study the notes during the winter when I’m doing my garden planning. It’s one of my favorite things to do to keep myself busy during our hibernation period. đŸŒ±

My heart is all over the place these days. Jim and I are hustling but struggling to keep up with all farm chores. So our wonderful son and his fiancé have offered to help us out on weekends occasionally which is such a blessing. Jim and I are feeling strong and capable, but also we really could use (and appreciate) their support.

Also I’m really starting to fall in love with our new farm family member, Ser Henry, who adopted us earlier this summer. He loves to be around the flowers and was circling this bucket of blooms and purring his heart out. Kitten approved flowers going out into the world today!

Finally, feeling grateful for the support of this community. Thank you for signing up for U-Picks, Farm to Table Dinners and more. It’s because of you that we can live this amazing flower-filled life. đŸ’«

Summer will be over before we know it, but In the meantime I’m going to enjoy the view and the privilege of nurturing this incredible farm. Hope to see you before the season ends! Only limited ticket options left! 💕

👏Girls Night idea! 👏The dahlias are blooming and you’re invited to join me for a Dahlia Bar Happy Hour this Saturday evening, August 22nd. Grab tickets on our website (link in bio). 🌾

Gather your friends and join me for a glass of wine, light snacks, a full dahlia bar set up in our newly remodeled event barn, and wander through the flower fields to cut flowers and make a bouquet to take home. The weather on Saturday evening looks to be perfect and we will have lots of time to chat flowers, answer questions and enjoy the beautiful evening amongst the blooms. It’s been dreary and humid and hot outside lately. The time of year, I usually hit a wall of weariness and mixed feelings of looking forward to sweater weather but at the same time knowing that soon I will be missing the flowers. Regardless of the heat and energy deprivation, this garden needs lots of attention. Hoping to tackle weeding, pruning and clean up over the next week or so. Gardening work must go on LOL! đŸ’Ș

👋You’re invited!👋 Join us on Saturday morning, August 15th for Bubbles & Blooms here on the farm. Tickets available on our website (link in bio). Grab your besties and sip mimosas, nibble on pastries from our friends at Savor The Rise and talk all things flowers in the comfort of our beautiful event barn. Then wander the flower fields to cut yourself a bouquet of fresh flowers to take home. We will have a fresh dahlia bar set up in the barn also. 🌾
