We are a little flower farm with a big heart. We are a small, family-owned flower farm in central Iowa.

We grow specialty cut flowers as well as a wide variety of unique daylilies on our family-owned farm in central Iowa.

Guess what?!?!? We are hosting 2 special Dahlia U-Pick events this weekend! Come visit the farm either Friday evening 10/9 from 4:30-6:30pm or Saturday morning 10/10 from 9-11am. NOTE: bring your own flower cutting snips! We will have them available for purchase as well. 🌸

Join us in the dahlia field at Bochner Farms for these drop-in style events. We’ll have pint jars ($30) or buckets ($70) available for purchase and then you’ll be able to wander through the dahlia field to pick your favorites and fill your jar or bucket with beautiful dahlias. We have 1,500 dahlias in bloom and the field is pure magic right now. 🌸

No pre-order tickets required. We hope to see you at the farm this weekend! This is your last chance to visit the farm for the season. Weather is going to be perfect and we would absolutely love to see you either Friday evening or Saturday morning! Yay! 🌸

A little photo dump from the crazy busy past 11 days on the farm. A few highlights ➡️ lots of flower harvests, our son’s wedding, a farm to table dinner, a special tour group and u-pick, and the autumn garden party. All between loads of regular farm work and dodging rain showers. Whew! Lots of fun and lots of beauty and lots of hustle. 💪

After a private farm to table dinner on Tuesday, the farm will officially be closed for the season. There is a possibility we may decide to do a dahlia u-pick pop up in October. More to come on that…. 🌸

Happy first day of fall from the beautiful RM Glenny Penny dahlia. That color is gorgeous and perfectly sets the mood for autumn. 🍂

I love the sounds of the morning. Hummingbirds chattering, birds calling and that hum of nature that will eventually go silent in the winter. We have had a very rainy past few days and more rain on the way. Looking forward to things drying out soon. And praying for no storm damage. 🙏

The cottage garden is overflowing and abundant right now. I got about half of the garden cut back and still have some more to do before the wedding that we will be hosting here on the farm this weekend. Gah! Our youngest son is getting married! Praying that Saturday the weather is good. ☀️

We have just 2 tickets left for our final Farm to Table Dinner of the season on Friday, September 25th. Grab them on our website (link in bio). We also invite you to join us for our Autumn Garden Party on Saturday, September 26th! Tickets are just $10 and available on our website. The season will be over before we know it. Can’t believe how fast the summer has gone by. 💫

It’s official. Welcome to dahlia season. 🌸

We’ve been super busy juggling flower farm work! Buckets and buckets and buckets of dahlias and other blooms going out the door and into our community. Such a blessing to be able to bring colorful flower joy to so many folks. 🌸

Life these days is a blur of cutting flowers, delivering flowers, washing buckets, watering flowers, deadheading, and cutting more flowers. 🌸

The salidago is going to be in full bloom soon. The variety we have planted is “Romantic Glory” and it’s this soft buttery yellow, so pretty. I kinda wish I would have planted some dahlias in this garden too, for even more poppin’ color. So, I will make a note to do that next year. ✏️

Do you keep garden notes so you can track what you liked and didn’t like during the season? So you can plan accordingly for the next season? I find it so helpful and keep lots of notes throughout the year. Then I study the notes during the winter when I’m doing my garden planning. It’s one of my favorite things to do to keep myself busy during our hibernation period. 🌱

My heart is all over the place these days. Jim and I are hustling but struggling to keep up with all farm chores. So our wonderful son and his fiancé have offered to help us out on weekends occasionally which is such a blessing. Jim and I are feeling strong and capable, but also we really could use (and appreciate) their support.

Also I’m really starting to fall in love with our new farm family member, Ser Henry, who adopted us earlier this summer. He loves to be around the flowers and was circling this bucket of blooms and purring his heart out. Kitten approved flowers going out into the world today!

Finally, feeling grateful for the support of this community. Thank you for signing up for U-Picks, Farm to Table Dinners and more. It’s because of you that we can live this amazing flower-filled life. 💫

Summer will be over before we know it, but In the meantime I’m going to enjoy the view and the privilege of nurturing this incredible farm. Hope to see you before the season ends! Only limited ticket options left! 💕

👏Girls Night idea! 👏The dahlias are blooming and you’re invited to join me for a Dahlia Bar Happy Hour this Saturday evening, August 22nd. Grab tickets on our website (link in bio). 🌸

Gather your friends and join me for a glass of w**e, light snacks, a full dahlia bar set up in our newly remodeled event barn, and wander through the flower fields to cut flowers and make a bouquet to take home. The weather on Saturday evening looks to be perfect and we will have lots of time to chat flowers, answer questions and enjoy the beautiful evening amongst the blooms. We just just a few spots left and I hope to see you at the farm! 🌸
