Huge shoutout to my dear husband Saul!
Today I wondered, “is there something he cannot do?” After I tell you what he did Saturday, Sunday and Monday you will wonder the same.
This man woke up early on Saturday, got all chores done by himself so I could sleep in with the baby and rest before I went to Dodge to help my sister with her food truck. Him and Valentin took Sally to get her hooves worked on in Spearville and then drove back home. He got all kids ready and drove back to Dodge to support me and my sister on opening day.
He then got all evening chores done with Jacob’s help and we got ready to leave for the night and get a load of hay.
We left our home at 11pm Saturday night, drove 6 hours to the loading point, made it to our destination one hour and half early and napped for 1 hour so we could get loaded at 7am. Made it back home at 5pm on Sunday to unload the hay and get evening chores done.
This Monday morning he got up at regular time to help with chores and went to work.
This man does all of these things day in and day out while being a wonderful and godly father and husband.
I can see the great example he is to our children and I thank God every single day for blessing me with such an amazing hardworking man.

This man makes my dreams come true EVERY SINGLE DAY and I’m so grateful for that. He’s the type of man that saw me come home with a milk cow and said, “I’ll build you a place for her”
This place would not be a reality without him!

Sally got so much needed TLC yesterday and got her hooves trimmed. We want to make sure our girls are in top shape and hoof care is a very important part of that care. Making sure their hooves and feet are healthy keeps issues at bay like cracked hooves, hoof rot, and lameness.

Our 7 year old has a favorite cow now, he walked Sally and loaded her in the trailer all by himself! Every single member of the family plays an important part at making Happy Tails Ranch an amazing place.

Good morning! We are SOLD OUT for today and tomorrow on milk and eggs. Our next available date will be Wednesday 09/02 and it will be limited. Please make sure you check with us on availability before sending payment.
ALL colostrum has been SOLD! If you’d like to get on the list for colostrum please let us know. Our next cows calving window starts in late October.

Can you believe these guys are 5 weeks already! They have been out and about scratching and eating bugs. Some stay close, some are brave and go far. This is what 112 meat chickens look like and thankfully we have not lost any! We like to raise them in small batches, as we feel we take better care of them that way.

Milking heifers is my favorite! Especially the ones I’ve raised from littles. This is the 3rd heifer I’ve trained from zero. Clean slate. Not 1 kick whatsoever! No bad habits for my set up. She let me:
✅Check on her baby
✅pick her baby up and move them
✅wash her udder
✅strip each quarter and disinfect them
✅milk her, did not move once during milking
✅apply mud on her udder to help with inflammation
✅went to the bunk to eat

I wish all cows were this easy! 🤣

Poppy had her baby and I can finally sleep. Is such an honor to me that my cows trust me with their babies but they don’t trust the other cows around them.

I’ve been checking on Poppy around the clock… I’ve never been this worried about a heifer before, but Poppy is so sweet and I don’t want anything to go wrong. We had her due date wrong and the anticipation was killing me!
Poor girl is sooooo swollen and looks like she’s ready to drop that baby any minute now.
