Can you tell which one is pork and which one is beef???
We raise our Berkshire/Hampshire hogs on pasture their whole lives! From birth to finish. Our hogs get to roam around and chose what to eat. This helps enhance the quality of their meat in several aspects such as:
✅Superior Fat Profile: Foraging on a diverse diet of grasses, roots, and insects results in pork with a healthier fatty acid composition—including higher omega-3 fatty acids and fewer inflammatory omega-6s.
✅ Pastured pork generally contains higher levels of essential vitamins (like Vitamin E and D) and minerals.
✅ More Antioxidants: Pasture-raised pork contains up to 74% more selenium, an antioxidant that works alongside Vitamin E to fight free radicals and support thyroid health.
✅ Enhanced Taste: Pastured pork is widely praised by chefs and consumers for a richer, more robust flavor compared to factory-farmed meat
✅ Reduced Toxin and Antibiotic Exposure: Pastured pigs rarely require the routine antibiotics often used in crowded, industrial confinement, reducing your exposure to antibiotic-resistant bacteria and chemical residues.
Pork is the “other red meat” if that’s true, then why is the meat at the store almost white or pink???
That is because commercial hogs are raised in containment and fed a controlled grain diet mostly comprised of corn and soy.
If you made it this far, pork is on the left and beef on the right.
Did you guess right? Were you surprised of the comparison?
We are taking deposits for our next group of hogs and you can reserve now.
