Absolutely unfiltered. Totally unfancy. Entirely old-fashioned. Completely us.
The kids and I arrived home from a school magic show to the darkness of the night and the squealing of the old corn elevator. Thud, thud, thud the whole corn thumped into the piling old corn crib. Once the kids were inside and I could no longer hear the rhythm of the dropping ears, I drove my car to the back of the old red barn to be sure Cody didn’t need more light (and to be sure all was okay as there is always a slight eerie feeling that creeps in on late fall nights like these when he can’t hear my phone call). This was the view I snapped. My camera did some auto slow-mo capture thing and I thought to myself, THIS is our real-life magic show. No frills. No machinery that costs 6-figures. No high tech that navigates fields via GPS. Just tractors ..and wagons …and an elevator …and two cribs all that are decades upon decades old…and two very special guys who are decades and decades apart in age working the magic to run this farm in old-fashioned ways to feed our livestock -from seed to feed - in order to grow premium meats for our community and beyond. The harvest is long. The harvest is tiring. The harvest is so magical and we have these guys to thank for making it happen.
Thank you all for showing up weekend after weekend to support our vintage ways for an authentic experience!❤️
