The Ischian chef Salvatore Di Scala has won the prestigious title of Ambassador of Italian Cuisine in the World—Italian cuisine is also recognized as part of the Mediterranean diet, a UNESCO heritage.
The award was presented to him in Ischia by renowned chef Enrico Derflingher, president of Euro-Toques Italia. Di Scala, founder of Naples 15 in Madison, Wisconsin, is also known as the “chef of two worlds” for his ability to introduce the excellence of Italian cuisine to the United States.
The ceremony took place in late September 2026 at La Cantina del Mare in Ischia, following events connected with Ischia Safari.
Thank you, Salvatore, on behalf of the entire island of Ischia!
