This has been a heartbreaking week and it’s just Monday. But just maybe things are gonna turn around.
Sunday was a painful day. Scott and I took Nova to Virginia yesterday to meet someone to complete her journey to New Jersey. Fred went with us. For those of you who don’t know, Fred showed up on our road 4 weeks ago. We posted about finding him. Took him to the vet to check for a chip. He didn’t have one. We treated him for a yeast infection, got him his shots, flea and tick meds and had him neutered.
Today I got a message from a friend who found a post about someone looking for their dog. There was a picture. It was Fred!
We made contact and returned Fred/Zeke to his own, through many tears. Fred’s owner was also tearful and glad he was found ok and taken care of.
Here’s the good part. After I returned home, I reached back out to Fred’s owner and said if you decide to rehome him we are interested.
He called back and said we could have Fred. He’s officially ours!

We want to thank everyone who took the time to comment here. It has and still is heartbreaking that we let Nova go onto another home. Emotionally we feel as though we let her down. Logically we know she is in a place that can help her more than we ever could.

We are heartbroken for trying to do something good!
No win situation!
We made the decision we could live with and that we felt best for Nova.

Nova

For those of you who don’t know Scott took in a severely injured goat kid. She’s growing fast. She’s learned to walk on her back legs and prefers it to our homemade wheelchair. She is super healthy, except for her legs. And to say she’s sweet is an understatement.

We had a friend who claimed Nova from the beginning. I think she loves goats as much as we do. And for many reasons, after seeing first hand how truly impaired Nova is and will be, she decided she couldn’t take her. In a desperate moment, as I stood over Nova and cried because I just didn’t know what to do for her, and if her life such as it was, was worth living, I reached out to Goats of Anarchy.
I asked for any advice and information they could give me to make Nova’s life worth living.
This is where I see God has stepped in.
As much as I know my friend wanted to take care of Nova and decided she couldn’t and as heartbroken as I was, God had other plans. You see, Goats of Anarchy wants Nova!!!
They have another goat close to Nova’s age that was born without front legs and walks on her back legs too. It seems she’s not impressed with her custom built chairs either. Lol
So today, we are driving to Virginia to meet someone who will take her to New Jersey, to Goats of Anarchy Sanctuary.
