Week 42 CSA boxes are ready for pickup today after 3pm here at Inwood Nature's Market.

This week's box is full of good fall eating. Crimson Crisp apples are sweet and crunchy, with fiber that keeps your gut happy. Golden beets are kind to your blood sugar and support healthy blood flow. Sweet potatoes bring beta carotene for your eyes and immune system, and fresh arugula adds a peppery bite with vitamin K for strong bones. You will also find gold potatoes, cherry tomatoes, and yellowneck zucchini in the box.

Thinking about joining us? Spots are open for the next 4 week session at $32 a week, and every box is packed with fresh local produce worth well more than that. We also have a limited number of no commitment boxes this week at $32 while they last.

Some of the best moments in life happen over a cup of coffee, and that is exactly how the folks at Lone Oak Coffee see it too.

Lone Oak is a small roastery in Wi******er, right here in the Shenandoah Valley. They source their beans ethically from farms all over the world and roast every batch with care, part art and part science, and the results speak for themselves. Their coffees have brought home medals from the Golden Bean North America roasting competition year after year, and they have been named Best of Wi******er coffee roasters four times.

We are proud to carry their coffee here at the market, including Ancestral Grounds, a blend of Ethiopian Guji and Mexican Chiapas that Lone Oak roasts just for us. Fresh bags arrive every week, so what is on our shelf was in their roaster not long ago.

We love kombucha, and Boochy Call Kombucha in particular.

It is brewed just down the road in Sharpsburg, Maryland, on real green tea, and several of their flavors are finished with local honey and/ or maple syrup. It is a living drink, full of the good bacteria that come from fermentation, and those little cultures go to work supporting a healthy gut. Here is one most people do not know: the natural acids in kombucha can help soften the rise in blood sugar that comes after a meal, especially when you sip it alongside your food. And because it starts as real tea, you get the antioxidants tea is known for, plus that fizzy, refreshing feel of soda without the sugar crash a couple of hours later.

Sipping it with your meal can also help you digest that meal more comfortably, and since so much of your immune system lives in your gut, keeping those good bacteria happy goes a long way. The fermentation also makes gentle B vitamins and enzymes your body can use. And we should mention, it tastes bright and crisp and genuinely good, the kind of drink you reach for because you want it, not just because it is good for you.

Our CSA has spots open. $32 a week for a 4 week commitment gets you a weekly box of organic produce worth $44 at retail. This week: young kale or lettuce mix, red potatoes, Honeycrisp apples, leeks, carrots, cucumbers, and purple broccoli, with a recipe guide included. Pickup Thursdays after 3 PM at the store. We also have a limited number of no commitment boxes available this week for $32, first come first served.

Making room for our move, friends. We have a whole bunch of Icaro Yerba Mate, raspberry and hibiscus, organic and delicious, that needs a good home. They are FREE, come grab some before they are gone. We would much rather see them enjoyed than packed in a box.
