🎄Bah Humbug: The Mini Dairy Goats Have Spoken!🎄

It’s National Humbug Day, and our Miniature Dairy Goats are letting us know exactly how they feel about the holidays:

🐐 The Offended One: Outraged because we dared to decorate their barn.
🐐 The Drama Queen: Throws a tantrum over the treat bowl being “empty” (it’s not).
🐐 The Fashion Critic: Completely unimpressed by their holiday bow.
🐐 The Rebel: Knocks over the festive feed bucket just to remind us who’s boss.
🐐 The Grinch: Chews on the decorations and claims they’re improving them.

But behind all the sass and side-eyes, they’ve got us laughing through the chaos. Life with goats might come with a side of bah humbug, but it’s also full of bah hah hah!

A few weeks ago, we brought home a white shetland ewe from Baize Shetlands! Minnie Pearl will be our first registered shetland and she has such an amazing fleece and temperament.

Baize Shetlands are descendants of the first Shetlands brought to Texas and Ellen Baize is an amazing resource for shepherding and wool art. 🐑❤️

A good week for our little farm! Clementine placed Reserve Champion over Junior Does in the MDGA Spring Virtual Show!
This was our first time entering animals in a show and we’re so excited about the results!
Clementine is such a sweet girl with a BIG future ahead! 🏆🥂🤩🥳

Last week we also welcomed Olive (Elm Creek Olive You Always).
Olive is a 5th generation mini nubian. She is registered through MDGA and is the start of our show herd! We will be entering her in a few dairy shows this year. She has such a sweet personality and loves to talk.
We love her already and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this girl! 💗

We also welcomed our very first chickens this week! So far we have rhode island reds and mille fleurs, but have a few more on the way in May!

After an unfortunate incident this week, miss Ella, our newest lamb was left an orphan. To help her aclimate to sheep life and not be lonely, we were lucky to be able to bring home a fellow orphan buddy!

Otis is a babydoll ram lamb who was rejected by his mom. He is such a friendly guy and we are so excited to have him here! He and Ella are already best buds! 💕

Thank you 17 Acre Woods for helping us out! Otis will be a treasured member of our herd forever!
