We call these Meatball Bombs and they’re the best way to use up leftover meatballs.

Wrap leftover meatballs in pizza dough with a little cheese added, close them up into balls, and bake seam side down at 350 until the crust is golden brown. Brush with garlic butter and serve with warmed leftover pasta sauce on top.

Best. Lunch. Ever.

Learn it, then pass it on.

This past week, Washington State University’s Food Systems 103 class spent the whole day with us, learning about sustainable food systems right here in our region. We were delighted to host them!

Teaching soil health out in the pasture was Chris, our current professional resident. He’s here in our 20-month residency, learning how to run a regenerative ranch from soup to nuts, especially the business skills most people learn the hard way. Seeing him turn around and teach was a dream come true. That’s the system working full circle: we learn, we grow, and then we pass it on, so more acres get covered in regenerative ag.

Is it just me, or do those fall trees form a heart over the whole scene? We’re humbly proud of how this program is growing.

The truck finally looks as good as the meat it delivers.

For 13 years we’ve used our plain trucks to meet customers at local pickup points around Spokane and Coeur d’Alene and plenty of small towns in the Inland Northwest, loaded with pasture-raised beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and bison.

We’ve always put our focus on the soil, the animals, and the people first. The logo is just finally catching up to what you’ve already been tasting in your kitchen.

Want to meet this truck in your neighborhood? Check local pickup and delivery options here: https://go.ramsteadranch.com/local-pickup

Huge thanks to Sunscreen for making our trucks look this good🙌.

6:45 am: dinner goes in the crockpot. 5:17 pm: I walk in the door to a house that smells amazing and the relief that dinner is already done. Thank you, morning me.

Somewhere between those two moments, I realized my crockpot has been teaching me a few things about life. Don’t rush the results. Simmer beats boil. And recipes are guidelines, especially when it comes to garlic.

The rest are in the photos. Which one hits home for you? Tell us in the comments. We’d love to hear your own crockpot wisdom too.

If you’re filling your crockpot this week, our slow-raised, nutrient-dense meat comes straight from our regenerative ranch: ramsteadranch.com

We hope your Monday is running on Dutch Oven (or crock pot) speed…low, slow, reliable, and easy!

A Dutch Oven doesn’t rush to get on to the next thing. It patiently simmers.

It fills the whole house with good smells. It coaxes out flavor and nourishment you can’t get any other way.

It’s reliable, predictable, and comforting.

We try to run this farm the same way: slow enough to be thoughtful, fast enough to serve you well.

The Ewe Crew ! When you are a herd animal, there is no such thing as personal space! That’s me, Eileen, tucked into the middle of our woolies, during a recent working day.

The sheep find comfort in being close together, so we bunch them up in small groups anytime we need to get hands-on for care and attention. And no matter the job, it’s fun to get down on ground level with them just to feel a little more connected.

We can always tell that true fall is approaching when the spiders set up their webs. Spiders may be spooky, but we love seeing them! They’re often a good indicator of a balanced and diverse ecosystem, plus, they’re free pest control!
