We were able to participate in Linear Appraisal with our 3 oberhasli does today.
Mizzouri (2nd freshening 2 yr old) scored ++++83. When we added Mz to our herd we were told she comes from a slow maturing line. So we are pleased with how she did. We look forward to seeing her daughter Butterfly Kizzez and Ladybug Hugz grow and mature.
Indy (2nd freshening 4 yr old) scored VVV+85. Given the minimal fore udder and her large, undelineated teats, we had anticipated this score. We are very pleased with the comments on her general appearance and dairy strength. We have very high hope for her daughter “Domino” who is definitely one of our keepers.
Brassy (3rd freshening, 3 yr old) scored VV+V85. This score surprised me a bit… and the nuanced points the appraiser made on her body, specifically her shoulders, where things I had not seen/noticed. Her daughters Marigold and Primrose will be staying, if they settle down (Brassy’s kids tend towards the wild, deer like side of the spectrum and do not always make the bargain of being milked for yummy treats).
Wonderful day! Learned so much!
