Obsydian's Shining Star of Circle C - "S2"
11/20/2014 - 9/1/2023 - 8 years 9 months - much to young to leave.
May you rest in peace, pronk over green pastures, and know how much you were loved and how very special you were here on our farm.
Rick and I had to leave the farm today for a bit, when we left S2 was happily chewing hay at the hay feeder with his herd buddies, Stormy and Shadow. When we returned S2 looked like he was sunbathing - like he has done so often... but today was different, instead of sunbathing or napping in the sun, S2 had passed while we were gone.
I'm so very glad we made the decision to put S2 and his buddies all back together on Wednesday. S2's incisions were healed and he longed to be with the boys instead of having a panel between them. They have been together for years and and it was only right that they were all together in the end.
S2 was that special alpaca. Such a kind soul. When I called his name, he would pop his head out of his shelter. When I hollered, "well come here"... he ran up the hill to his hay feeder area so I could scratch his neck and he would give me kisses. He was always gentle on the lead, and longed many times for the girls. That is my only one big regret - that due to our health issues, we never used S2 for breeding - oh I would give anything to have an offspring by him now.
I really don't know how much more of my heart is left to break after losing Yahtzee, Astro, and now S2 all in less than a years time.
Thank you everyone for following my posts about S2 during this last few weeks. The prayers sent and the healing lights lit were all greatly appreciated. I and S2 felt the love from all of you. I sincerely appreciate all the care given my Dr. Carman and the staff at OSU. This is going to be a rough weekend for me as I'm committed to a craft show.
