It's early APPLE season! Our earliest apples are being harvested now, with 30 more varieties coming up through October. We just started picking Paula Red apples this week and have them fresh-picked at the market now. Paula Reds are tangy, bold and crisp with subtle berry notes, great for fresh eating or applesauce. Zestar and an early Honeycrisp variety are ramping up and will be ready for harvest in the coming days. Zestars are sweet, tart, juicy and crunchy with brown sugar notes, perfect for eating fresh, salads and applesauce. Honeycrisp apples have a "honey-like" sweetness, balanced by tartness and a great crisp, juicy texture. They're great for eating fresh and baking. NOTE: PICK-YOUR-OWN apples are coming up in September, so please watch our page for updates.

Looking to add a unique touch to your outfit? We have beautiful peacock feather earrings NEW at the market this week, only $5 per pair. Peafowl can be raised right here in Michigan. The males, known as "peacocks," naturally molt and shed their long tail feathers at the end of the mating season every year. The females are called "peahens." One of the Hanulcik family siblings raises peafowl on a nearby hobby farm, so we also have individual peacock feathers available for purchase. These feathers are great for vases, floral arrangements, wreaths, or as a decorative touch on a gift bow. They are available in two color variations: vivid blue/green, or more muted bronze/brown shades. We're sharing some videos in this post featuring these family-owned Ionia county peacocks and their beautiful plumage during mating season, plus a video showing how the males fan & shake their tail feathers to impress the peahens.

RED HAVEN alert: We still have Red Haven peaches this week from one of the SW Michigan farms whose peach crop survived the unusual/extreme arctic winter this year. Supply may be a limited, so if you've been waiting on or looking for Michigan-grown Red Havens be sure to stop in and stock up.

Stop in for Jones Farm meats, Amish Country Dairy milk & butter, Farm Country cheese, baked goods, locally-grown Belle Fleur Country Acre fresh-cut flowers and lots fresh, delicious local produce at the market: Choose from Michigan-grown peaches & plums, sweet corn, cantaloupe, red or gold potatoes, onions, lettuce, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, and more. There's still plenty of summer ahead with farm-fresh FUN and family-friendly things to do in the upcoming months. Pick-your-own sunflowers, raspberries, blackberries, apples and pears are coming up on selected dates through summer/autumn/fall. Watch our page for updates.

If you're looking for fun things to do (in addition to picking your own fruit) we have FREE wine tastings (must be 21 or older to sample wine) and free LIVE music coming up in September. FLOWER POWER! Flowers spark joy and are a wonderful way to brighten your day and reduce stress. We're partnering up with Belle Fleur Country Acre Farm (a family-owned flower farm in Mulliken MI) to bring a variety of fresh-cut blooms to you starting on Thursday Aug. 6. Stop by our flower wagon at the market and pick up some beautiful, farm-fresh flower stems. Buy individual stems and build your own bouquet. This week's varieties are gladiolas, zinnias and "ProCut" pollenless sunflowers (dahlias are coming in soon, chrysanthemums later on). Plus our pick-your-own sunflower patch is open all week long, too. Be sure to stop in the market to borrow clippers to clip the sturdy stems if you want to pick your own sunflowers.

FYI -- RED HAVEN alert! We were able to get some Red Haven peaches in today from one of the SW Michigan farms whose peach crop survived the unusual/extreme artic winter this year. It may be a limited supply, so just we want to give you a heads up if you've been waiting on/looking for Michigan-grown Red Havens (so you don't miss out). We also have peach "seconds" (varieties vary) available for $20 per half bushel.

The patch that just keeps on giving: We THOUGHT the early crop of U-pick raspberries would wind down last week, but the patch is still producing fruit and going strong .... go figure! Please stop at the market store for directions to the raspberry patch, to buy boxes, get your own containers weighed before picking, and after picking to pay for your berries.

Sunflowers symbolize happiness & joy -- take home a bouquet today! Don't want to pick your own? Fresh-cut sunflowers are also available inside the farm market store for $1.50 per stem. Make fun family memories: Feel free to snap photos in our pick-your-own sunflower patch located right next to the market, or take pics at our cut-out photo opp boards featuring sunflowers, berries, butterflies and more. We just got sunflower-themed hair clips, bag charms, beach bags, canvas tote bags & purses in this week and we even have sunflower-print collar bows from "Cutie Ties" for your favorite pets.

Stop in for fresh, delicious local produce at the market: Sweet corn, plums, cantaloupe, red or gold potatoes, onions, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, and more. There's lots of summer ahead with more farm-fresh FUN and family-friendly things to do in the upcoming months. Pick-your-own sunflowers, raspberries, blackberries, apples and pears are coming up on selected dates through summer/autumn/fall. Watch our page for updates.

NOTE: Strawberry season has concluded for the year. ALSO: No pick-your-own peaches this year (due to the unusually harsh extreme winter & late spring freezes) but we hope to be back in full swing with peaches in 2027. Michigan was hit hard by extended stretches of extreme cold weather this past winter. The trees are just fine, but bud damage was extensive, not just at our farm, but statewide. Some orchards in Southwest Michigan managed to get through the extreme winter and have a limited yield. We personally know several of these farmers and they consistently produce great quality peaches and nectarines. We brought in a load of fresh-picked Michigan peaches this week from one of these Southwest Michigan farms to offset our crop loss this season and still provide delicious Michigan peaches for you.

If you're looking for even MORE fun things to do (in addition to picking your own fruit) we have FREE wine tastings (must be 21 or older to sample wine) and free LIVE music coming up in September, plus several Thunder Belly BBQ food truck pit stops at the farm in August. See event schedule below and SAVE THE DATES for these upcoming events: You're all invited: Bring your family and friends for fresh fruit, food, and FUN at the farm!
