We just added a new item to our online store.

The Chicken Dark Meat Bundle is a great way to stock up your freezer with pasture raised, vaccine and antibiotic free chicken if you like dark meat. You will get at least 10 pounds of thighs, 10 pounds of legs & 7 pounds of wings. At $175, that is less than $6.50/lb.

This item must be ordered online and cannot just be purchased at the farmers market, but you can order it online and pick it up at the farmers market if that is what you prefer.

I have finished processing chicken for tomorrow's farmer's market. See comments for specific inventory items added. Also, I only have 11 packages of bacon remaining and it will probably be a couple of months before I have more so if you are interested you should get it while you can.

I don’t think that I’ve ever introduced you to the night watchmen here at the farm. We’ve got Jake on the left and Zeus on the right. They do a good job. The only real issue I have with them is that Zeus thinks that feed bags with corners on them are very dangerous so he needs to chew the corners off all the bags he can get to. He doesn’t eat the feed, just chews the corners. Just a fun little fact about Zeus.

The egg chickens love it when I do something dumb like leave the basket with the sausage in it out of the freezer. Now they get a meat treat.

Federal officials are now asking consumers in Texas and Florida to check their freezers for beef imported from Argentina.

The Food and Drug Administration's Food Safety and Inspection announced that Corte Argentino, a company based in Florida, recalled almost 30,000 pounds of raw beef products produced in May.

We are changing the way that we sell our bulk pork. You will not be buying a specific animal and then having to wait until the animal is processed to know what product you will be getting as well as the cost. We are now selling specific quantities of each cut at a specified price. No more guesswork.

A whole hog equivalent is $910 (20% discount off of retail) with a $200 deposit required when you reserve your share. A half hog equivalent is $510 (10% discount off of retail) with a $100 deposit.

We have 5 hogs that should be ready for processing in about a month so if you interested reserve yours now. If you know someone else that may be interested, please share this with them.
