Carter & Morgan McClendon are excited to announce a new business opportunity! D.C. McClendon Inc. is a Hereford cattle operation, dedicated to delivering breeding bulls, replacement females, and show cattle. Our operation is built by cattlemen for cattlemen, reflecting our deep commitment to the industry. Every animal we raise embodies our dedication to quality, featuring balanced udders, pigmentation, amiable dispositions, a high rate of gain, and a sound structure that ensures optimal skeletal correctness.

The name behind the operation is David Carter McClendon, who was born on May 30, 1913, in Grayson County, Texas. A proud sixth child of seven, raised by A.B. McClendon and Dora Canasada Mayhue. On June 4, 1935, in Sherman, Texas, Carter married his beloved Anna Carylene Geren, forming a partnership rooted in love and hard work. Carter served as a SSgt in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. Throughout his life, Carter became a pivotal figure in his local community. He managed the local gin in Lavon, Texas, while dedicating his efforts to farming and ranching. His legacy includes serving as a trusted consultant for local landowners eager to optimize their operations. In the early 1960s, Carter began breeding registered Hereford cattle, taking his passion further by raising F1 hybrids utilizing Limousin and Santa Gertrudis bulls. His expertise and dedication laid the foundation for what would become a lasting commitment to excellence in cattle breeding.
