It was a good day at Hub City. We sold our heaviest steer crop ever today. Front end load weighed 1142 and second cut weighed 1047 and 1059. All the steers together averaged 1074!

We will be selling 3 loads of steer brothers to our bulls we sold in our sale. They will sell this Wednesday, February 26th at Hub City Livestock Auction. Here is a quick video highlighting a few of what we will be selling. If you have any questions give Tracy a call at 605-380-6396.

The bull sale has concluded and the dust has settled around here. We would just like to say thank you to all who have shown interest in our program. It is truly humbling the amount of people that have reached out and talked cattle with Tracy over the last couple of weeks.

All the bulls sold and found good homes. Some went to repeat customers and many of those have been buying from us from the start. Others found new homes with customers who have just bought their first bull from us this year. We appreciate all our buyers, bidders, and anyone who has shown interest in our program.

Bulls with more calving ease
Lot 3 and Lot 6

Lot 3 is a half blood bull out of a heifer I bought from Kunkel Simmentals. He is sired by the angus bull Kessler’s Commodore. He has a ton of style and is correct is almost every way. He has EPDs in the top 1% of the breed for Milk and MWW and top 2% for WW YW and ADG

Just an 80 pound birth weight and weaned off his first time mom at 772. He’s been gaining 4.8 a day and has an adjusted yearling weight of 1374 and a 39.2 adjusted scrotal

Lot 6 is a picture perfect baze face bull sired by the legendary Cowboy Logic bull. He is out of a revolver sired first calf heifer. He is long spined and deep ribbed. He carries a straight and thick top line.

Just 81 pounds at birth and weaned off his first time mom at 854. He’s been gaining 4.5 a day and has an adjusted yearling weight of 1370 and a 37.8 adjusted scrotal

Lot 2

This is our first calf crop out of one my favorite herd bulls I call captain coke. He stamps his calves with extra rib, a thick top, and a wide stance. The dam is sired by true justice and has produced multiple replacement heifers. She has proven herself as one of the most productive cows we own.

This guys has an adjusted weaning weight of 807 and has been gaining 5.6 pounds a day since weaning. He measured 6.7 frame and adjusted to 1649 at a year of age with a 40.7 adjusted scrotal

Lot 1

Lot 1 is sired by a bull we own that we call revolver. He has been very good for us and has sired many bulls in our past sales including the lot 1 bull in last years sale who caught the eye of many top cattlemen. This guys dam is big, long, and also had a standout bull in last years sale.

This guy has an adjusted weaning weight of 824 pounds and has been gaining 5.5 pounds per day since weaning which adjusts him out to 1664 pounds at a year of age. He is a big dude measuring a 7.6 frame and an adjusted scrotal of 40.7. He is a thick topped, deep sided, and long spinned performance bull backed by a proven cow

Pictures are done and catalog is in the works. Here is a sneak peak of some of the bulls we will be offering this year. If you are not familiar with our program these and mid March to mid April bulls and are really hitting their stride of late! We have some exciting news to share about our upcoming bull sale!

We are keeping our date of the last Saturday in February but new for this year the sale will be hosted by DVAuction and will be a timed online only “bid off” auction. Bidding will open on Friday February 21 at 8 am and on Saturday the 22nd we will have an open house at the ranch where the bulls will be penned for viewing. Bidding will close at 5pm on Saturday and the entire offering will continue to go into 5 minute extended bidding until there are no more bids coming in on any of the bulls in the sale.
