Who loves a good beard?! 🧔🏻‍♂️Temps today were again in the high 90s-100. Bees will remain outside to keep the heat & humidity down inside the hive on hot/humid days. This is known as bearding as it looks like facial hair on the hive boxes.
They will fan at the entrance to regulate temperatures inside, evaporating water from the honey, & to protect the brood (eggs)!

Overwintered hive 7/10 filling but underwhelming☹️ did not add additional honey super as I anticipated..

Hive Check 7-5.26. 2nd super was 70% heavily filled with honey& bees. 3rd box added. Phone overheated 🤦‍♀️

Hive check on the overwintered hive. Smelled like SWEET honey. Very calm & weak compared to other hive.

Now that’s a lot of bees! Hive check 6-23-26 on the new package hybrid hive. This super was just added 6-12-26. I didn’t bother on pulling frames as it appeared full of honey & bees.
