Coming up on a BBQ contest on Labor Day weekend. It's our first one in a long time, and a little unusual.
I have a campsite at Calaveras timber trails in Avery California,and we are having the first BBQ contest in the park.
The rules require a sample sized BBQ meal with a protein 2 sides and a dessert, your "ideal BBQ plate", cooks choice.
I've decided on pulled pork w homemade sauce, garlic red smashed potatoes,BBQ beans and coleslaw. Fried mini pie for dessert.
Wish me luck, I'll post pics.

Oh yeah, I'm not home with my big cookers, so it's all on webers and my warmer is a gas grill.
I found a #12 cast iron Dutch oven for the pit beans for 50$ unused and in its original box (score).

I've cooked every meal for a month on my cast iron using my gas grill.
It is lowering my blood pressure....

FYI, I will not be at the Warren county protest called
“NO KINGS” to protest the anti trump America hating Marxist liars.
Their website has them prepared to switch to Sunday due to rain.
Please drive by blaring “I’m proud to be an American “ and “YMCA” if they show up.
