The Truth About Softened Water.
“Water softeners add sodium, so they’re bad for your health.”
That statement leaves out something important: how much?
When a sales pitch turns added sodium into a blanket health warning, you deserve numbers—not fear.
Here’s the perspective: removing 15 grains per gallon of hardness adds approximately 28 mg of sodium per 8-ounce glass. An equal serving of 1% milk contains approximately 95 mg.
The amount added depends on your water’s hardness, and sodium already in your water contributes to the total. If you follow a sodium-restricted diet, discuss your drinking water with your healthcare provider.
Before buying the product someone is pushing, ask for the facts behind their claims. A recommendation should explain what each system does, its limitations, and why it fits your home.
At AmeriFree Water, we believe you deserve honest answers, clear comparisons, and a solution based on your needs.
Know the numbers. Know your water.
