Wine details: Dark and brooding in its depth of red color, this wine is almost inky and macerated for a lengthy period to generate this kind of extraction. I like to imagine the pigment being akin to something Caravaggio might have used to create his most iconic images. The nose is rife with classic Italian Amarena cherries, followed by the spicy, herbaceous notes from the young cabernet franc vines. On the palate, the Due Santi is pure silk and grace. One might even forgive one for using the term, smooth to describe this hedonistic Roman elixir.
