🐔💕 WELCOME TO THE FARM, GIRLS! 💕🐔

We have some more VERY EXCITING NEWS that took place this past week!

Our flock is growing! 🐔🌱

We are so excited to introduce 20 new little ladies who have officially joined the family! ❤️

Our newest girls are a beautiful mix of:

🤎 Amberlinks
🤎 Buff Orpingtons
🤎 Midnight Majesty Marans

They've arrived, they're settling in, and we're already having so much fun watching them explore their new home. 🐔🏡

And we're especially excited about what these girls will eventually bring to our egg basket! 🥚❤️

The Midnight Majesty Marans are known for their beautiful rich, dark brown to chocolate-colored eggs 🍫🥚 — something we're really looking forward to adding to our assortment of farm-fresh eggs!

Of course, these girls are still young, so we're going to have to be patient. They have some growing up to do before they become our newest egg-laying ladies. But before we know it, they'll be contributing to the flock! 🥚🐔

😂 AND THEN THERE'S THIS LITTLE GIRL...

Apparently, one of our new little peeps has already decided she has something to say about being on camera! 📸🐥

Every time we try to video her, she comes right up and pecks at the camera! 😂

We're not sure if she's saying "Get that thing out of my face!" or "I'M READY FOR MY CLOSE-UP!" 🤣

But one thing is already clear...

This little girl is going to have a PERSONALITY! ❤️🐔

We have a feeling she's going to keep us entertained as she grows up. And if that first impression is any indication, she may just become one of the stars of Fed's! 😂

We can't wait to watch them grow, discover their personalities, and eventually see those beautiful eggs arrive! 🥚❤️

We want to take a moment to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by and supported us during our produce sale last weekend! ❤️

We truly appreciate every purchase, every visit, and everyone who continues to support our little farm. What started as a small farm has become something we really enjoy sharing with our friends, family, neighbors, and community. 🐓🌱

And while last weekend was busy, we've been REALLY busy this past week! 😂

We've been picking, sorting, and putting all those beautiful tomatoes to good use — and we still have an abundant amount of fresh tomatoes available! 🍅🍅🍅

How We Help Our Chickens Stay Cool During Extreme Heat! 🌞

The Little Things We Do for Our Girls ❤️🐔

With temperatures soaring, we're doing everything we can to help our girls stay comfortable! ☀️🐔

Did you know a chicken's normal body temperature is around 105–107°F? They don't sweat like we do, so keeping them cool during extreme heat is so important.

One of their favorite ways to cool off is this simple setup—a shallow tub filled with cool water and patio paver blocks. We add frozen ice blocks to keep the water colder longer. The pavers absorb the cool water, and because chickens can release heat through their feet and lower legs, standing on the cool, wet pavers helps them regulate their body temperature.

The funniest part? They actually know exactly what to do! They stand right on the icy pavers like they're at a little chicken spa. 🧊💦🐔

We also make sure they always have plenty of fresh, cool, clean water throughout the day, lots of shade under the coop, and they wait until the cooler evening hours before heading out to free range.

Our girls work hard for those farm-fresh eggs, so it's our job to make sure they're happy, healthy, and well cared for—especially during this unusual stretch of extreme heat. ❤️

🥚 Egg Sales Update 🥚

Egg sales will be unavailable from Sunday, June 21st through Thursday, June 25th. However, our cooler on the front porch will be fully stocked today and available through 6:00 PM tomorrow for anyone who would like to stop by and pick up eggs to hold them over.
