Who wants a 2022 Cudighi Fest? Let us know in the comments. We are looking at Mid-June Downtown Negaunee if you all want us to plan it again post-pandemic! I know the restaurants and food trucks are ready to battle for the title again BUT ARE YOU WILLING TO COME drink beers and eat cudighi all day?

Okay. Tomorrow is Our Cudighi Day - or OCD! In lieu of the cudighi fest, let's all get out and make or order cudighi from our favorite places! Post a pic here of you devouring yours for free passes to the next event and other cool prizes!!

With the Covid-19 pandemic derailing EVERYTHING, the 2nd annual Cudighi World Championships and UP Cudighi Fest will also be postponed to a later date in the summer... HOPEFULLY!

Time will tell and we will continue to consult with health officials for advice on an appropriate time to hold the event.

SPECIAL NEWS: On June 13th, 2020 - the original date chosen for the event - we are asking EVERYONE to order a cudighi from their favorite establishment or make their own at home and post a pic or video enjoying it. We will be choosing a few to feature and will be offering free admission to the event once new dates are determined to those with the most creative photo's or videos. If you want to be a judge, please be sure to mention it in your post.

Pics between now and June 13th are also encouraged as we need to support our local restaurants and keep the cudighi alive!

Mark your calendars for June 13, 2020. The 2nd annual World Cudighi Championships will take place in the Country Village in the field between the Jasper Ridge Inn, the brewery and cabins.

Noon-5 - public tasting and people's choice judging
5-7pm - official judging
7-9pm - awards + party

Tickets go on sale tomorrow!! More details on Eventbrite after you purchase entry vouchers.

Comment on this post to sign up to be in the running to sit on the official judging panel. We will choose 16 judges this year! If you are a union member or VFW, Legion or others be sure to indicate which you are in and post or number. If you judged last year please mention that. If you are a fire fighter, armed forces member, police, veteran or any other bad ass please mention that as well!

Proprietor's of the Cudighi sandwich: If you are a restaurant and have one on your menu, you should probably show up! If you are an individual or small group and have a recipe you think can win, show up! If you sell a ton of your meat all over the globe, show up! You never know who might buy up your recipe!!! Comment on this post with "We are in" and we will contact you to set a time to meet and discuss the competition details, sign up process, rules and format for this year.

Teal Lake Pizzaria was the major winner last year. Gravedoni street eats won people's choice. Who's gonna show up to challenge the champions? We will see.....

Winter's coming. Time to start eating 2-3 cudighi's per week to prepare. Also, time to start thinking about the 2020 cook-off! What date would you like to see this happen this coming year?

We have lots of exciting additions this year including a non-traditional category, extended hours (probably noon - 5pm for public tasting) with a 5-7pm judging window and live entertainment throughout the day with a headline of sorts at 7pm AND MORE... Looking for suggestions still if you have any.
