Sunday Farm Stand Update:

Corn: plentiful and picked fresh throughout the day; $6/dozen (50 cents/ear)
Apples: Duchess by the bag and by the bushel; $5/bag; $25/bushel
Pears: 1 quart container left; remainder still small and will go into our cider; $2
Crabapples: bag your own in provided bags @ $5 (Makes 1 batch of jelly)
Jam/Jelly: running out of some varieties and low on others; all are made using low sugar recipes; $5/jar
Pickles: 1 Bread ‘n Butter left; plenty of Dill; $5/jar
Hydrangeas: from our Annabelle plantings: turning that pale green shade; 50 cents each

Duchess apples - by the bag or by the bushel! $5/5 # bag or $25/42 # bushel. Divvy up a bushel among family and friends and save yourself a bundle. This is the Aroostook County pie apple of choice for generations. Also makes a great apple crisp or applesauce.

Adding brilliant red Crabapple Jelly to the Stand in limited quantities at this point. More to come. Not enough crabapples ripe at this time to put them on the Stand - watch for an update.

Freshly picked corn is plentiful for your weekend cookouts. If you’d like to pre-order large quantities for freezing/canning, please let me know and we’ll work out a date for pickup.

The last few bags of Yellow Transparent apples (on the small side this year) have been picked and are on the Stand along with many bags of Duchess. Limited pears available in quart boxes and one bag; waiting for the rest of the pears to grow.

Lots of corn, jam and pickles this weekend; already running out of or low on several varieties of jam. Cukes are also coming to an end, so here’s a heads up to you pickle-lovers! If you’re looking for great gifting ideas, now’s the time to stock up.

Grateful for a rainy day here at the Farm Stand. We will still be open from 9-5 so you can time your visit between showers! If you cannot get here by 5:00, please message or call in advance and we will set your corn aside for you to pick up when you can get here (by 7:00, please).

Good morning! Opening the Farm Stand for the season this morning (Saturday, August 15) at 9:00. Just a few reminders:

We accept cash and checks - we do not participate in Maine Share and do not have electronic checkout abilities.

There is a small amount of change available in the cash box, but please bring small bills

The Stand is self-service. please bring your own reusable bags if possible. If you need assistance, one of us is usually around to help.

Please keep pets in your vehicle - the dooryard can be busy.

Thank you for your patience, especially when we run low on corn -we always want to keep fresh corn on the Stand and it takes awhile to pick.

Look for our sign out front - if the corn flag is flying, the Stand is open and corn is available.

Look forward to seeing everyone @ 686 Sherman Street (that’s Rt. 2) ~ 3 1/4 miles out of Island Falls, heading toward Sherman. Going to be a great Season!

Finally!! Binottos Farm Stand is opening Saturday, August 15 with sweet corn, Yellow Transparent apples (on the small side) and lots of jams, jellies and pickles, carrots and beets.

Prices:
Corn: $6/dozen; discounts on orders 10 dozen or more
Apples: $5/half peck bag (~5 #)
Jam and Jelly: $5/jar
Pickles: $5/jar
Carrots: $2/bunch (~1 #)
Beets: $2/bunch (~2 #)

Please bring your reusable bags. We welcome any paper bags you’ve saved - please just leave them under the counter in the Stand.

Compare the center pic to our post of May 20; same block of corn, now a few weeks away from harvest. Cukes are coming on strong, so Dill and Bread ‘n Butter Pickles are in almost daily production; still picking raspberries which are now going into both jam and jelly.

Still looking at mid-August opening of our farm stand at 686 Sherman Street, Island Falls. Sorry, can’t be more specific than that right now - depends entirely on the corn. Once that happens, we’ll be open daily (7 days a week) from 9-5, offering fresh sweet corn, several varieties of apples and pears as they ripen, ~12 varieties of jam/jelly, the aforementioned pickles, and cider once we have enough pears and apples to consistently press. More info as we get closer with info on prices, pre-orders, picnic orders, etc.
