Church Street on Your Street: A fun Church Street Fact is that one of our best distributors, Vintage Distributors, operates in northern Florida. Every year when the weather starts to cool off, we get a decent number of customers that are always pleasantly surprised to find four-packs from their favorite Chicago-Area craft brewery waiting for them when they get to Destin for a well-earned vacation. Keep your eyes peeled!

…aaand while we’re on the subject of civic engagement, Jason and Liz from Love Local Chicagoland popped in for lunch today. They’re a non-profit that is always out and about promoting local events in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. So. To summarize everything we’ve gone over today:

1. There is a brewery in Itasca (us) and we’re open for lunch now!
2. Itasca rules because Itascans rule.
3. Civic engagement is very important.
4. People that go out of their way to make their neighbors’ lives better deserve all the kudos they can get.

For the longest time, when we were out and about, the two most common questions we’d get were “What? There’s a brewery in Itasca?” and “Where IS Itasca? The good news is, every year, we get those questions a little less frequently.

This past Saturday, we were serving up samples at not one, but TWO nearly simultaneous community events that our small hometown’s library, park district, and dozens of civic organizations, church groups, and clubs put on for families to enjoy. This weekend wasn’t a one-off either. There is almost always something fun happening in Itasca and the people running it are either volunteers or town employees going the extra mile.

We’re grateful to live and work in a town like Itasca. Places like this don’t happen on accident and only last for as long as there are people willing to take the time to make their neighbors’ lives better.

And for those of you still wondering about those first two questions, yes, there is in fact a brewery in Itasca (us) and Itasca’s a small town of less than 10,000 named after the headwaters of the Mississippi located about 15 minutes west of O’Hare airport.
