Dilmun Hill Student Organic Farm We are an organic student-run farm that has been practicing sustainable agriculture on Cornell Univer Welcome to Dilmun Hill! Interested in helping out?

We are a student-run farm that has been practicing ecological agriculture on Cornell University's campus for more than a decade. Our mission is to provide students, faculty, staff and community with opportunities for experiential learning, group collaboration and research. Throughout the year we host work parties where volunteers work in the fields and experience the latest in sustainable ag pract

ices. The student managers and steering committee members collaborate with the Organic Coordinator and Faculty Advisors to provide leadership in farm operations and disseminate information through education and outreach. We also collaborate with various organizations on campus, such as the McDaniels Nut Grove (MNG) and Cornell Orchards. This season, we are excited to receive all of our organic seed from Johnny's Selected Seeds through their Charitable Giving program. For more information about Johnny's, visit their website at http://www.johnnyseeds.com

Dilmun Hill's summer 2014 projects include:
Continuing no-till practices in the Market Garden
Expansion of growing area
Relocation of our hoop house
Bioremediation projects in areas with contaminated soil

Dilmun produce can be found at the Farmers Market on the Ag Quad every Thursday from 11AM-3PM. Volunteer work parties will be happening regularly! For more information, join our listserv ([email protected]). Hope to see you soon!

Today we welcomed our Summer CSA members to Dilmun Hill for a community potluck and farm tour! 🌱

We shared a meal together, enjoyed homemade muffins and honeyberry-infused water, and spent time exploring the farm. It was wonderful to connect with the people who support our work, answer questions, hear ideas, and share what is growing this season.

One of the best parts of farming is building relationships, not just growing food, but creating opportunities for learning, conversation, and community. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today such a special gathering.

We are excited for the season ahead! 🌿

The Weekly Dirt | Week 3 🌱

Summer is picking up speed on the hill.
This week, we planted sweet potatoes, carrots, herbs, flowers, and more while keeping up with the never-ending cycle of weeding and irrigation. In the greenhouse, we started the next generation of crops, including broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, lettuce, and flowers that will find their way into the fields later this season.

‌The harvests are growing too. This week we picked honeyberries, spicy lettuce mix, and garlic scapes, bringing some of the first flavors of summer to the farm.

Beyond the fields, we connected with incoming students, faculty, staff, and visitors through our pop-up market, sharing fresh shiitake mushrooms and herbs while introducing more people to the work happening at Dilmun Hill.
We also learned about determinate and indeterminate tomatoes, and how pruning and trellising help keep plants healthy and productive throughout the season.

And, of course, there was plenty of wind, row cover, and farm humor along the way.

Thanks for following along as we grow, learn, harvest, and build community on the hill. 🌱🚜☀️

The Weekly Dirt | Week 2 🌱

Another week, another chapter of life on the hill.

This week, we continued filling the fields with crops that will feed our community throughout the season, installed irrigation systems to support new plantings, welcomed Cornell alumni back to the farm during Reunion, and learned from Cornell alumna Gigi Danziger about building a farm rooted in sustainability and resilience.

We also hosted our first pop-up market of the season, sharing mushrooms, herbs, flowers, and plant starts with the community.

And in true farm fashion, the week ended with a surprise: a woolly bear caterpillar collected by Jane completed its transformation into an Isabella tiger moth, just in time to join us in celebrating Brynn's birthday.

From planting crops to meeting alumni to watching nature unfold before our eyes, every week at Dilmun Hill reminds us that farming is about much more than what grows in the ground.

The Dilmun Hill Summer CSA is back! 🚜💚

For 8 weeks this summer, you can enjoy fresh, student-grown vegetables, herbs, flowers, and even shiitake mushrooms from Cornell's student-run farm.

Whether you're cooking for yourself, your roommates, or your family, our CSA is a great way to eat locally, support student farmers, and stay connected to the food you eat.

Choose between:
Bud Share (feeds 1–2 people)
Flower Share (feeds 3–4 people)

New this year: a Shiitake Mushroom Add-On!
We offer multiple payment options, including a limited work-trade program, because we believe fresh, local food should be accessible to everyone.

📆 June 24 – August 12

Every share helps support hands-on learning, sustainable agriculture, and the next generation of farmers and food system leaders.

ROOTED IN COMMUNITY: Cornell Reunion 2026 at Dilmun Hill! 🌱❤️

What an incredible Cornell Reunion weekend! We loved welcoming back so many amazing alumni to the farm today. It was profoundly exciting to exchange stories, learn from your experiences, and share how our student-run farm continues to grow and innovate. There is nothing quite like the shared connection of community, hands-on learning, and a mutual love for agriculture.
A huge thank you to everyone who made the trek out to see us, paint a tote, check out our projects, and celebrate the roots that keep us all connected!

Meet the Dilmun Hill 2026 Team 🌱

Behind every tomato, bunch of kale, and basket of fresh produce is a team of dedicated students, farmers, and community members who make it all possible.

From early mornings in the fields to long days planting, weeding, harvesting, and learning, this team brings energy, curiosity, and care to every part of the growing season. Together, we're cultivating more than food, we're building community, stewarding the land, and gaining a deeper appreciation for the work that connects farms to tables.

Here's to a season of growth, muddy boots, sun-soaked days, and plenty of lessons from the field. 🌿🚜
