A look at the types of samples we send to the Dairy One Soil Lab. It’s fun to see the different colors, textures, and appearances of soils collected by our team. Once they’ve been analyzed, customers will know their nutrient levels – something that can’t be determined just by looking at them.

Happy Water Quality Month! Dairy farmers across the industry can use a variety of practices to help protect water quality, such as a Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan.

A Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan (CNMP) helps manage farm nutrients by looking at their inputs and outputs, then providing practices and strategies to manage them. These plans are unique to each farm and written by certified nutrient management planners.

Yup, we're part of the process when it comes to water quality!

Happy Water Quality Month! Dairy farmers across the industry can use a variety of practices to help protect water quality, such as good management of manure applications.

Dairy manure is a valuable resource with a variety of uses. Manure serves as a natural fertilizer for crops to produce food for cows; it can be turned into renewable energy to power the farm and even recycled into comfortable bedding for cows. The first step is proper management; farmers consider a couple different factors when it comes to manure application.

🎊Summer Picnic Time!

Last week we attended the annual summer picnic of the Massachusetts Association of Dairy Farmers. Hosted at Twin Rivers Farm in Ashley Falls, MA, this event included legislative updates, an aerial drone spray demo, and a farm tour. ACS was one of many business sponsors!
