Rouge with her 8 babies. They're 6 days old here and doing really well. Of the 9 born 1 wasn't doing great from the start and didn't make it through the first night, but the other 8 were looking healthy and are still doing really good. Rouge has been a great mom. She's been super responsive to their cries and very careful of where she lays down so she doesn't hurt them. She still doesn't want us holding her babies, but she doesn't mind us being near them or even touching them as long as we don't make them cry out.

This video is showing Rouge giving birth to the first 4 babies. The first four came relatively close together. She'd already been laying down and obviously laboring for quite awhile before they were actually born. I ended up with over an hour of combined footage, but cut this out of the total. I was up there with her from around 4pm until around 9pm then checked back on her frequently the rest of the night. I feel really blessed that she was unbothered with me sitting nearby and watching the whole thing.

We're at 9 babies now and still going. Rouge is doing a terrific job. The babies are all doing well so far.

Rouge resting in the current version of her nest. She's already made and then re-made it several times. Poor baby is nearing the end of her pregnancy and could have her babies either tonight or tomorrow.

Rouge has her milk coming in and is nest building. The wait is almost over. She's also being super sweet right now, doesn't seem concerned about my presence in her area and close to her.

Immediately after taking care of the jumping baby goat I come out of the barn to find Lilac is suddenly in the enclosure meant for the Nigerian dwarf moms and their babies. They just all want to be difficult for us. We got her put back in her area and hopefully she stays put.

The problem baby and her poor innocent twin. This brown baby ghost kept escaping tonight, 3 times while we were doing chores before I stood there and watched. Now he and her sister are in jail for the night.

Rouge is 9 days out from her due date here. I didn't really get any good shots of the babies moving, but I've felt a lot of kicking and shifting around. She's just really cuddly here... until she isn't. Lol

Mr. Pigglesworth and Ruby are starting to go out and forage now as the grass and weeds are growing. They haven't gone far yet but they'll eventually make it out to the pasture. They're liking their new freedom quite a bit. I took this video several days ago and just got the ability to post it.
