Some hatched 8/10 and some hatched 7/25

These will be the last chicks I have available until the end of October.
These are a large dual purpose breed. Roosters weigh around 10 pounds and hens 8+ pounds. They are amazing egg layers and make a decent meat bird. Temperament wise they are a very friendly breed. They do great free ranging and due to their size they are not very flighty.

I'm turning our incubator off until October so I have no use for these eggs. Fertility rates have been high. Eggs are mixed. Color possibilities are calico, chocolate calico, Penciled sweetgrass, penciled fall fire, semi-penciled chocolate palm, semi-penciled palm.

I didn't pick up their eggs yesterday so he had 8 eggs under there that he was trying to keep warm 😂

It was the Tom yesterday and a Roo today... Idk if it's the food, the water, or this extreme heat but something's got them definitely confused lol

I went to feed the turkeys and noticed my Tom was missing. So here I am freaking out that he somehow managed to escape last night but I knew there was no way he could get out of their cage. Then I heard a drumming sound and knew the hens couldn't make that noise so then I followed where it came from inside of their coop....... That big fat Tom turkey was sitting on eggs inside of their nesting box 😂

This was a first for me lol

He squashed all but one egg in the process SMH

LIGHT SUSSEX HATCHING EGGS 💲1️⃣0️⃣ / DOZEN

I'm taking a break from loading the incubator right now for personal reasons so I have a TON of eggs adding up. We get about 2 dozen eggs per day so for the next few weeks all hatching eggs are only $10 a dozen. Fertility rates have been great so far this year. Around 90%
