As Dean approached retirement we knew he needed something to pursue, which turned out to be beekeeping. We also knew he needed a companion and found the perfect one: Trooper, an Australian Cattle Dog (red heeler, think of the Bluey cartoon).

We recently found out Trooper was sick and lost him.

This past week we found the next addition to our clan: her name is Finley, another red heeler. Today we introduced her to how we look when we wear our bee jackets. She did great! Since the bees were chill she was able to get her first pic in an apiary.

A big Thank you goes out to Dean and Janice York and Bee Quiet Honey for coming to Blackman Animal Clinic today to talk and educate us on bee's and what makes them buzz. Lol. It was educational, informative and, most of all, fun. You both did a great job!!

We had the opportunity to provide some bee education to Blackman Animal Clinic in Jackson today. We love to talk about bees and at this time of year we were also able to bring in an observation hive. Thanks for having us.

Great day today! Students from our winter bee class were able to attend a hands on bee lab. We installed a nuc (small hive) and learned how to do a hive inspection. Thank you to Encounter Church for hosting our hives for this workshop. We are excited for these new beekeepers.
