We take pride in all of our animals and gardens around the homestead. Everyone is healthy and happy from the guinea pigs to the geese. We also have cats/ kittens and a few dogs around the homestead. This page was created for us to reach out and allow people to purchase the great tasting farm fresh chicken eggs and delicious vegetables. Black pitbull with a small white patch on his chest. Not Neutered! Very friendly. Has fur missing on the front legs/feet, back feet and tail. No collar! Found right behind Playful Paws & Vermeulen Furniture. Will be taking to J.C.A.S when they open if nobody has claimed him yet.

Just checked the duck eggs that I wasn't hopeful about so I could put my chicken eggs in and well, I was wrong they are developing. So I added 27 chicken eggs and left my 6 Rouen duck eggs. They are set to hatch the same day to a day apart. I got my incubator at a garage sale for $5, it's a model from 1999. This is my second hatch with it!

2 of my blue Cochin hens. Ik one is black but the blue gene does not breed true so with blue chickens you can have black(blue), black(blue) splash, blue splash or blue. The black girls carry the blue gene because both parents were blue or have the blue gene. I have 1 blue and 2 black(blue) hens. The Cochin breed also has feathers on its feet. They are what I call the furry footed or feather footed chickens. The Cochin has been one of my favorite breeds since I've started raising chickens on my own at 16 (7 years now). Some say the feather foots are not good in cold climates but from my extensive research and experience they are actually one of the best if given the right care. The feather foots are known to lay year round and right through the winter. I will be experimenting with these girls and crossing them with one of my Brahma cockerels. The chicks of this cross will have feather feet and will be a large bird. I'm trying for size & average butcher age, laying abilities/broody abilities & hardiness. I will be culling hard to try and make this a great cross of bird. .
