Dear friends,
The past couple of months have had Robert and me running in two completely different directions — him focused on getting our 2026 crop in the ground, and me traveling across the state (and beyond) for work. When life gets that full, this page tends to take a back seat… but that usually just means we have a lot to catch you up on.
Yesterday, we carved out a little time for what we’ll call an “afternoon date” — which really just meant a drive to the farm to check crops and take care of a few things. The soybeans are up and looking good, and while we did get rain this weekend, you wouldn’t know it from the dust trailing behind the truck. Our first cotton, planted last week, has officially started to germinate, and Robert will keep rolling with planting through this week.
On the flower front, tulip season has officially come and gone — always one of my favorites, and always too short. But the good news is we’ve got several other varieties starting to come in, and mixed bouquets will be here soon.
And one more thing to look forward to — sweet corn should be ready near the end of June, so go ahead and mark your calendars.
More updates coming soon (hopefully sooner than the last one).
Signed,
a slightly frazzled, first-year farm wife
P.S. Lily really liked crashing our “date.”
