There is something powerful about bringing young people together around stories, food, and community.

For the past several years, Foot Print Farms has been honored to partner with the Catherine Coleman Literary Arts, Food, and Social Justice Summer Program at Jackson State University. This incredible initiative inspires emerging writers while connecting them to Mississippi’s rich literary traditions, foodways, and the pursuit of social justice.

This year, we had the privilege of hosting the program’s closing dinner at the farm—a fitting way to celebrate a week of creativity, learning, fellowship, and growth. Watching these brilliant young minds gather around the table reminded us that food doesn’t just nourish our bodies—it builds community, sparks conversation, and creates lasting memories.

Thank you to the Catherine Coleman Literary Arts, Food, and Social Justice Summer Program, the faculty and staff at Jackson State University, and every student who allowed us to be part of your journey. We look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership for years to come.

Together, we’re growing more than food—we’re cultivating leaders, storytellers, and stronger communities. 🌱💚

Last night was everything we hoped it would be… and more. 🤎🌿

A huge THANK YOU to everyone on our waitlist who came out for our Sneak Peek and helped bring the Back 40 to life. Your energy, laughter, and support reminded us exactly why we created this space.
