Apologies if we missed ya today, the rain was here and heavy(good for the ol' homestead though!!).

Had to cut a day from our regularly scheduled programming because harvest/plant season has arrived and living on a food forest and not being able to get those veggies out and bbs back in is a fun slice of work. Grab some of the goodies from the Jonya Homestead from over (snagging some veg from them for our farmers market soup too).

This week is going to be extra super fun because there's going to be a dance party on the river courtesy of on Sunday, can't even wait--the trailer's going to be bouncing to the beats and going to have some EDM-related goodies to give out(no, you can't have my turntables from the old dj days😅).

IT IS FREAKING SOUP SEASON FAMILY!!! (at least for a couple of weeks, it's a die roll at this point)

Anyway, snagging veggies from Riverside Arts Market (RAM) & Murray Hill Farmers Market to create rotating weekly market soups that exemplifies some delightful slowing down and enjoying local goodies grown right here.

Rotating specials are always rocking too, so take a peek at the board for ever-evolving fun flavors.

Jax Veg Fest is on October 18th, so mark those calendars and let's have a party to celebrate Autumn coming in and saving us from the summer heat.

Last, give Devon Michele Easley a follow and make plans to check out the new spot about to open in the Hill. We had the opportunity to peek it today and it's just so perfect! Congratulations and beyond stoked for Ramfam to find such an awesome spot🎉

It's about the same temperature in Asheville as Jax right now, but it's been a fantastic quick reset and always brings inspiration focusing in on hyper local agriculture, culture, food and art when in the mountains.

Going to bring that inspiration back to Jax, and really hope y'all enjoy the new ideas in the culinary adventures and specials.

Plus, the pups have had so many incredible fries(does every spot in AVL make them from scratch bc holy crap they've all been amazing!!), but it's time to get back to it at home because there's so many podcasters from LA that live here now.

In all seriousness though, it is tough still seeing some of the damage from Helene present, but it's beyond beautiful how much the community comes out here to take care of each other. When the bastards are pulling the copper out of the infrastructure in the face of disaster after disaster, it reinforces what's been true all along: we help us, community is solidarity, and know your farmers or know how to grow food(bonus for all on the bingo card).

It's been a kickass month for the Jax , but now it's September and going to have the items continuing on(kimchi reuben a regular, the other goodies revolving specials--especially yellow curry as a side, it's a fave). Please make sure to check the whole list out even past August, you never know which spot may keep the menu items:)

Super secret fun: Sunday night brunch will be a thing this week. The Lilith's Revenge Wrap or Kalesadilla are the big players, but everything is built to order, so do it how you want🔥

It's the last days of the Jax , but that Kimchi Reuben Crisp and Yellow Curry are going to be sticking around as items on the regular, so happy to see so many people enjoying all the items! Do yourself a favor and run over to for their 3 course pre fixe, it is absolutely divine and treat yourself as much as you can within reason. All three courses are tremendous, but there's something about that dessert, well, you just have to try it:)

Back to the regular 5 spots with a special Tuesday pop up in Springfield on Tuesday night, come hang out for a bit. Hope the weekend was a good recharge or fantastic time at work, see y'all soon🌱🌱🌱
