Do you know where your beef actually comes from? 🥩🇺🇸

Country-of-origin labeling for beef has been a complicated issue for years. One important change took effect January 1, 2026: if beef carries a voluntary “Product of USA” claim, the animal must now have been born, raised, slaughtered and processed in the United States.

But beef is still not covered by mandatory federal Country of Origin Labeling (COOL) at retail.

As a small local producer, I believe consumers deserve transparency. At the end of the day, we all get to decide where we spend our food dollars.

One of the best ways to know where your beef comes from is simple: know your farmer.

Buy local. Support local farms. Ask questions about how your food was raised.
