Guided by our own farm to table roots, The Roost features a seasonal all day menu prepared with ingredients sourced from our own farm, farm partners, and artisan purveyors. Summer at Congaree and Penn is quiet. It's a season where many of us humans flock to the beach, to the pool, to anywhere north of Florida. But there are a few perks to summertime at the farm.

1. It's green. It's lush. It's thriving!

2. The sunsets are unreal. If you plan to visit in the evening, take a moment to admire the sky. The colors cannot be missed.

3. Afternoon rain showers cool the farm grounds for a moment. It's amazing to listen to the symphony of frogs and cicadas.

4. It's quiet. If you want to feel like the farm grounds are your own, visit during the summer.

5. The Roost opens on June 19th! It's our new casual open air restaurant (equipped with fans, of course). Learn more at congareeandpenn.com/reservations.

Big news, besties. The quonset hut is getting a glow up. Construction will begin this summer and the space will be transformed into a fully enclosed and temperature controlled restaurant (yes, it's about time). Stay tuned for the grand opening of High Horse this winter. The last day to dine at the quonset hut is Sunday, June 14. Make a reservation to wish the ol' patio farewell.

In the meantime (maybe we buried the lead), Congaree and Penn is delighted to introduce The Roost, a casual open air restaurant debuting on Friday, June 19. Goodies for Mom, goodies for everyone! Shop the Farm Shop at Congaree and Penn. It’s our cute new boutique where you’ll find farm staples like rice, jelly, cider, olive & pecan oil, fresh baked bread, cookies, pastries, pies, and ice cream. The shop is also curated with books, greeting cards, kids stuff, dog stuff, pasture raised meats, wines, chocolates, and other beautiful treats.
