We are considering adding cut flowers to our homestead this year. I know its a cart ahead of the horse but would anyone be interested in prepaying so that we can get it started? If not we will not likely have tulips this year.

Our new addition, 5 copper maran hens and 1 roo. Looking for eggs early to late summer from them.

Hi from Little House on the Hill Homestead!

We’re located about ½ mile from Buckhorn Store.

We’re in a season of starting over, so things are moving a little slow—but with hope and intention. We’re planning to have a farm stand up this summer, and while selling our excess goods will be helpful, my heart is really about helping people and building community.

There’s a movement that encourages trade stations, but they charge $55 just to use their name—and honestly, that’s just not something we can afford right now.

So here’s our idea:

We want to create a space dedicated to TRADE ITEMS ONLY.

That could include seeds, plants, vegetables, eggs, starts, or other homestead-style goods.

I plan to start seeds once this cold spell passes, but community help would be amazing. If you have anything you’d like to share or trade, please message us. Let’s support one another and grow something good together.

Some of you already know, but I wanted to share it here — Paisley and I have moved to Jacksonville and started our homestead journey over. This hasn’t been an easy decision, but it’s one I’ve prayed over a lot. I truly believe God is leading us into a new season, even if it feels a little scary and uncertain at times.

We’re starting fresh — new ground, new routines, new lessons — but the same faith. I’m trusting that God will provide, guide our steps, and grow something beautiful from this new beginning.

If you think of us, say a prayer. And if you’re in a season of starting over too, know this: God is really good at new beginnings. 🌱

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, prayed for us, and encouraged us along the way. We’re stepping forward in faith. ❤️

Ok maybe just maybe I am regretting a pig. We just spent 45 minutes trying to get Bacon back in the smaller pen AFTER he escaped it into the bigger one. He has a date with a scalpel Saturday and we are trying to keep him in the smaller space until then.

Good morning from Alabama! Paisley, now 13,and ai are starting over. We are converting a building to a tiny home. We are doing all the work on our own. I have done repairs but never from bare bones to a home. I am doing a lot of Google and YouTube plus a few really great people are going behind abd checking my work.

So far we have put up insulation on walls(yep stapled it and have now been told that this reduces R value. Will add more later if needed). Installed electric boxes on outside walls. Put up wall between bathroom and kitchen. We did this Sunday and Monday morning. We have been gifted and thrifted a lot of stuff for our tiny home and have to wiggle and adjust plans as we go.

Today I am working on remaining bathroom walls, delivering a gifted fridge and hopefully will start wiring. Working around allergy testing this morning for me and daughter.

My biggest oh no is figuring out flooring. I am out of money at the moment so looks like it will be rugs for a while. Hoping to get moved in by first of November. I am currently looking at either peel and stick or glue down planks to keep cost low

Always up for suggestions. Attached a few photos and videos.

Oh and she did have a mask on for insulation but had pulled it off for a minute.

Change is coming.......stay tuned!
