Can you see the small c-shaped larvae floating in the bee food?
This is a three-day-old larva grafted from the hive. It is placed into a queen cup, as shown, and transferred into a queenless hive. The worker bees will feed the larva an abundance of royal jelly, causing it to develop into a queen. About 10 days later, the mature queen cell is harvested and transferred into another queenless hive, where the new queen will emerge.
