When you cook with beef tallow, the oil is very heat-stable and doesn’t go rancid. It has a much higher smoke point than most seed oils, fries food quickly, and doesn’t soak into the food unnecessarily. It’s very healthy and can be cheaper; you can get it directly from a farm. Animal fat is healthy.

Despite over 1,000 people moving here daily, Florida is still home to more than 886 thousand head of cattle, and 15,000 beef producers. It’s also home to one of the largest momma cow herds in the country!

Billy took this picture, and it’s one of my favorite photos because it captures so much of what I love about Florida. If we build a bigger house someday, this will be the first thing to be framed and hung on a wall!

At the edge of a vast pristine wilderness area amid open fields and shimmering waters lies Black’s Natural Farms. Located on the northern border of Duval County at the edge of the Timacuan Preserve, we raise all natural beef the way our forefathers did hundreds of years ago. Our family ancestors raised cattle in this region for centuries. We do it the way they did: No hormones, no antibiotics, no ionophores, and no cages. Our specially selected Aberdeen Angus cattle are born and raised right here on our farm. So we know what goes into our cattle. Our cattle are always humanely treated and free to roam happily munching grasses and forbes. Happy cattle make better beef! Fed an all natural diet, our beef is good and good for you. We have limited quantities available each year. Our harvests are sold by the quarter, half, and whole. This is the beef we feed to our family. We know you will enjoy feeding it to yours.
