Soooo you see what happened was…
One of my broody girls had a clutch of 4 eggs. She was on the other side of the coop not near the nesting boxes. Then comes hatch day.. there was only three two hatched one making its way.. but where did the other egg go?!? I looked everywhere no signs of it. It kept bothering me.. like wtf, right?!?
Then I got to thinking what if one of those other broody betches got ahold of it and took it to the nesting box.. I remembered exactly what they looked like so I went and candled my collected eggs and lo and behold I found it. It had already internally piped so I thought for sure it was a goner! I cracked it open and it was still alive!! I didn’t think it would make it but here we are over 24 hrs and he’s still breathing.. fingers crossed he makes it!!
