A new school year is officially underway, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome a new group of culinary students in the kitchen! 🧑🍳👩🍳
As we look ahead to all the creativity, learning and delicious dishes to come, we’re also taking a moment to look back at last semester’s Advanced Culinary students and a few masterpieces they created.
From thoughtful technique to beautiful presentation, these students put their skills, passion, and creativity in every plate. We’re proud of how far they came and can’t wait to see what these new classes cook up!
Last semester’s final class we were thrilled to welcome one of our culinary parents into the classroom to share their knowledge and teach our students how to prepare delicious authentic Indian cuisine. The students got to use fresh Indian spices, and made butter chicken, aloo beans and spiced potatoes, with cumin rice.
It was a truly spectacular class.
We had multiple cooking challenges, one of them being a dessert challenge, and our students chose a dessert and took it from start to finish— planning, preparing, baking, plating, and presenting their creations. Here one team makes pavlova.
Another team chose chocolate eclairs.
Pavlovas with a strawberry lemonade compote, topped with a rosemary whipped cream and a fresh rosemary sprig garnish. These high schoolers really blew it out of the water with this one!
Handmade cream-filled chocolate eclairs with a sprinkle of Maldon and a sprig of rosemary for garnish. Can we please take a moment for this gorgeous plating!!
Another team chose traditional homemade apple pie with whipped cream. I think it was the best apple pie I’ve ever had!
And the final team chose to make ice cream sandwiches. They made strawberry ice cream by hand-shaking it with salt rocks, then made the best snickerdoodle cookies of all time. They paired the two flavors together which was an unexpected home run!
We love the creativity each team came up with and their ex*****on skills were truly remarkable!
