Ohhhhhhh big moves, big moves. 🄲

It’s been a longstanding dream of mine to build a brand that shares a little bit of the life we live with other people, and maybe makes the world a little better and brighter through intentional, quality things. First it was our little farm in Florida, and now it’s here in Texas, where we sowed our wild roots on trust and enterprise.

Those close to me know I tend to live fully, leap intentionally, and learn quickly. Sometimes it makes my head spin, but I’ve learned to trust the opportunities that feel deeply aligned with the life we’re building.

Today one of those opportunities came up, and Keith and I took it.

Wildroot Farm ETX is officially becoming a vendor at The Collective Boutiques Tyler (formerly The Painted Tree). 🄹

Which means Wildroot is getting its first little permanent retail home.

I’m excited. I’m nervous. I have far too many decisions to make over the next couple weeks as I build out my first retail space. And I cannot wait to build it and fill it with things made, grown, gathered, and chosen with intention.

Follow along because our booth officially opens early next month. 🌱

I’m really excited to be working with Lauren da Silva to bring the personalities of Wildroot Farm to life. She will be illustrating our biggest personalities for the Wildroot Farm children’s books in beautiful watercolor.

I’ve never hired an artist before, and in an age where AI infiltrates everything, this feels like an even bigger step than it would have been a few years ago. But I’ve always wanted to publish a book, and to hold with the Wildroot way, I’m moving forward with this project ethically, with no digital shortcuts that hurt the art industry.

This will be a long journey with a huge learning curve, but I’m confident that with Lauren’s help it will all turn out beautifully.

Lauren also has a watercolor subscription for children called the Florida Field Notes where you receive a watercolor of a species in Florida each month, along with information about that part of the Florida ecosystem. Her page is wonderandwanderfl.com and we eagerly look forward to her letter every month. Definitely check it out.

Throwback to when the goats were just babies 🤭

09/11/2026

A love letter from your bossy older sister: Babe. Use the nice stuff. Take the bubble bath, and use the organic sugar scrub for yourself. Buy the nice flowers. Sit down for ten minutes and stare into the void. Stop saving EVERY ounce of your time, energy, money, and tenderness for everybody else.

You, ma’am, are a person in your life who needs taking care of, too.

Fill. Your. Cup. All the way up. Let everyone else drink from the overflow.

Exciting news! If you’ve been following along and wondering, ā€œSooo…how can I get my hands on a scrub?ā€ā€”they’re officially debuting this Saturday at the Whitehouse Farmers Market at the Home Sweet Bakery booth!

You can preorder your favorite scent in the comments and pick it up at the market, or stop by Saturday to smell them in person and choose your jar.

Available scents:

šŸŽ Autumn Orchard
Warm apple pie layered with cinnamon and clove, then brightened with a little lemon. It smells like walking through an orchard with something delicious baking nearby.

🄧 Save Room for Pie
Pumpkin pie, vanilla, cinnamon and clove. Rich, sweet and unapologetically indulgent—like insisting you’re completely full and then accepting a slice of Grandma’s pumpkin pie anyway.

šŸ’œ Enchanted Veil
Lavender and vanilla softened with a subtle hint of cedarwood. Sweet, feminine and all-consuming, with crushed blue butterfly pea flowers blended throughout.

šŸ‰ Dragon’s Hoard *only 3 left!*
Sweet orange, cedarwood and cinnamon. Warm, spiced citrus with a deep woody base—like dragon-warmed treasure hidden inside an ancient cedar chamber.

🌹 Fae Garden
Bergamot, lavender, lemon and vanilla, with dried rose and flower petals mixed into the scrub. Bright, floral and softly enchanted—like stumbling into a garden that wasn’t there yesterday.

šŸŒ™ Moonlit Library *only 3 left!*
Leather, cedarwood and bergamot. Dry, woody and atmospheric, evoking leather-bound books, towering shelves and cool moonlight falling across an open tome.

Each scrub is made in small batches with sugar, jojoba oil and vitamin E oil, then packaged in a 3 oz amber glass jar.

Each 3 oz jar is $8. Preorder in the comments for market pickup, or come smell them in person Saturday!

I’m just a millennial fantasy reader with a granny’s heart, struggling to make that video content. 🫠 Anyways, the scrubs will be available at the market this weekend, so come check them out and get your delicious sweet treats from Home Sweet Bakery’s booth while you’re at it.

Meet Enchanted Veil.

This is for the woman who wants her romances dressed in silk ribbons and candlelight with flushed cheeks, garden promenades, stolen glances across crowded ballrooms and a love powerful enough to set everything right by the final chapter.

She isn’t searching for darkness. She wants yearning, devotion and heroic light triumphing every time. Love that feels warm, abundant and almost smothering in its softness, this is the literary equivalent of being gathered into layers of velvet and tulle until the entire world becomes gentle again.

Enchanted Veil opens with lavender and folds into rich vanilla, with only a whisper of cedarwood beneath it. Crushed blue butterfly pea flowers leave tiny violet-blue flecks throughout the sugar scrub, like petals pressed inside an old love letter.

Soft. Feminine. Romantic. All-consuming.

Lavender • Vanilla • Cedarwood

For the reader who believes tenderness is powerful, devotion should be lavish, and the light should always win.

For external use only. Keep water out of the jar.

Every dragon keeps a hoard.

Not every hoard is made of gold.

Introducing DRAGON’S HOARD, the first sugar scrub scent from The Reader’s Apothecary.

Cedarwood gives it the depth of an ancient forest. Sweet orange brings warmth and brightness, like citrus peel curling beside a fire. Soft vanilla settles underneath it all—warm, inviting and just sweet enough.

The result is woodsy, glowing and quietly addictive: a layered scent for readers who prefer hidden kingdoms, dangerous quests and creatures that may—or may not—allow themselves to be tamed.

Handcrafted in small batches and packaged in a 3 oz amber glass jar.

DRAGON’S HOARD
Cedarwood • sweet orange • warm vanilla

For those who would rather be chosen by the dragon.

Would this one make it into your hoard?

For external use only. Keep water out of the jar.

Ever have a bad night of sleep with some real weird dreams, and decide you’d rather just wake up early and get the day started? This is what we call your dreams talking to you. Omens. Signs. Messages. ā€œYo stop sleeping and go help your goatsā€ subconscious emails.

Goats and chickens were locked up in the barn overnight and thankfully none of the cats got caught under the tree so everybody’s fine but this means I’ve got some fence repair ahead of me before I can let them out today. ļæ¼

It’s not all pretty sugar scrubs and kids books unfortunately.
