Happy National Herbs & Spices Day!

…and we’re celebrating with shelves full of flavor.
Today is National Herbs & Spices Day, and it couldn’t land at a better time — the shop is stocked, the jars are shining, and we’ve got some fun new things ready for you to explore.
We’ve been bringing in fresh spices, blends, and pantry boosters, and today felt like the perfect day to share them with you. Here’s what we have in the store for you:

Pomegranate Mo‑liscious!

Pomegranate Molasses is here — a sweet & tart reduction of fresh pomegranate seeds, with nothing added — no added sweeteners, colors, or preservatives. Just pure fruit cooked down into a brown, tangy, thinner‑than‑you’d‑think glaze.

We tried it last night on a pork loin on the grill. The loin came off with that beautiful golden‑brown color, little char marks along the edges, and the juices just starting to glisten on top. Then we brushed the Pomegranate Molasses on for the last five minutes, and it turned into this glossy red-brown, sweet‑tart glaze that clung to every ridge and made the whole thing shine.

Take our word for it — when you try it, you’ll keep a bottle in the cabinet like it’s part of the family!

No Booth, Still Celebrating — Open Until 9 PM

First Friday in Westfield is back tomorrow from 5–8 PM — such a fun community night. Splash, Dash, & Drizzle is not participating with a booth this year as we’re concentrating on the store, but we wanted to be a part of the First Friday fun, so we’ll be staying open until 9:00 PM to give you extra time to stop by, either on your way to or from Westfield.
We’re proud to support the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and tonight’s First Friday.

Celebrating Bluebirds with RTPI

Last year we were in the market circuit, but this year we’ve stepped back to concentrate on the store. Still, every now and then a special event comes along that’s worth packing the car for. This Saturday is one of those days.

We’ll be at the Bluebird Festival at the Roger Tory Peterson Institute — an annual, family‑friendly celebration of the Eastern Bluebird (New York’s state bird) and a chance to shine a little light on wildlife conservation and the importance of native habitat. RTPI’s mission has always mattered to us, and supporting the work they do to protect and educate our community feels like the right kind of “yes,” even in a year when we’ve said fewer of them.

The festival runs May 30th from 10–4 at The Lodge at RTPI, 311 Curtis St Ext. Jamestown, - rain or shine, with activities for all ages — from building your own bluebird box to guided walks along the Bluebird Trail, hands‑on art and educational stations, a scavenger hunt, vendors, crafts, and even the On The Fly food truck. Admission is just $5.

Because we’ll be participating in the festival, the store will be closed on Saturday. We’ll be back to our regular hours next week. And if you’re wandering the festival grounds, come say hello — we’d love to see you.

When the weather turns warm, sometimes the best meals are the ones that don’t ask much of you. This little picnic salad has been on our table lately — quick, colorful, and just the right mix of fresh and flavorful.

Slice up a handful of grape tomatoes, baby cucumbers, and fresh mozzarella.
Give it a gentle drizzle of our Sweet & Savory White Balsamic Vinegar, then finish with a sprinkle of Syracuse Salt Co.’s Mediterranean Seasoning.
That’s it. No fuss, no long list of ingredients — just a bright, easy bowl of summer.

Why We’re Staying Close to Home This Season

If you just need a bottle of olive oil or balsamic, you can grab something off a grocery store shelf or from a discount store. And that’s fine — you get what you pay for.
