Gemplers began with the basic idea of helping farmers repair tires in their own shops. Being able to save on repair bills and reduce downtime in the field was popular from the start. We mailed our first catalog in 1986, and not long after, our customers were asking where they could find protective equipment for mixing and loading chemicals. We responded by expanding into safety supplies – respirat
ors, protective clothing, gloves and more. In 1995, the same people that looked to us for protection from pesticides requested that we supply workwear and footwear. Our customers wanted protection from both the cold and heat while staying comfortable and dry. We found that people wanted commercial-grade products that many stores didn’t or couldn’t afford to stock. We added a broad selection of commercial-grade waterproof boots, Carhartt® clothing and hard-to-find gloves – all in a wide range of sizes and styles. Our workwear and footwear selection has now grown to more than 150 catalog pages and includes full-service embroidery and heat press. Over the years, Gemplers has developed a skill for selecting the right products, many of which you can’t find locally, and organizing them in a way that makes it easy to shop. In recent years we have further expanded into pest management, shop and maintenance supplies, and horticulture supplies. Our approach is still the same – sort through all the available products and handpick the best ones. We now offer more than 42,000 different items, either in our full-line Master catalog or on our website. And, if we don’t have it, we can special order what you need.
