A little something we have been working on behind the scenes here at H&R is feeding out a couple boars.
This guy is 13-3 born on March 1st and his pedigree reads as follows:
Self Aware x Custom Made x Who’s In x First Take
The First Take sow goes back to Galbreath Farms that Clayton Lahman purchased back a few moons ago that went on to be Champion Chester at the Mn State Fair Open Show. I heard multiple reports that she should’ve been Supreme Champion Gilt, but ultimately the judge went a different direction and that’s just the way it goes.
Franz Farms Showstock purchased her off the sale that year at the open show and bred her to Who’s In. The following spring, Clayton would buy a gilt out of that litter that later on we had the privilege to purchase - which I believe that Gilt had won the Chester breed at the State Fair Open Show as well.
Fast forward to today as a result of buying that Who’s In x First Take female, H&R Genetics has been able to produce a long line of banner hanging Chester’s, both in the barrow ring and gilt ring.
13-3 brings a lot of years of breeding together with this strong pedigree.
What I appreciate most about this guy is his natural shape, muscle, spread up high, and how square he is coming and going!
He has been in a pen by himself on a self feeder on showrite 1610 - about as natural as a person can ask for.
We also have 2 littermate brothers on feed as well and we plan to share at least one of them on here in the near future as well.
Look in. Any questions, reach out. I think he could be a generator. He is for sale, for the right price.
