Went to Memphis over the weekend and came upon this place called Celtic Crossing,a little Irish pub in the bougee part of town. First up we have the Irish poutine fries appetizer. They are topped with a shepherds pie filling and cheese. Very fulfilling. Delicious and just the right amount of flavor. Second appetizer was the homemade pimento cheese. Very delicious and spicy. Has pickled jalapenos in it and it really sets off your taste buds and nostrils 😂. Very creamy as well! Third appetizer was the shepherds meat hand pies. This one I couldn’t decide on how I liked it. I mean it had a great taste but the texture wasn’t all that good. Maybe it was the pie shell itself it was very crumbly. Same flavor as the fries tho. Entrees we started off with bangers and mash. The sausage had a good snap to it. The peas and mashers complimented it well. Gravy just put it over the top. Very delicious! Next we had the crispy cod sandwich with a side salad. Nice crisp flavor to the cod. I think it was panko breadcrumb coated. Too much lettuce was overpowering it. The homemade tartar is what made that sandwich so good. Next again we had fish and chips. Classic take on the cod. Again the tartar sauce saved the day. Dill is one of my favorite flavors and it set it off in that sauce. I give this place a 8/10! Great atmosphere and food was superb!!!! If y’all go to Memphis be sure to look this place up and give it a try!
