This information is from a Cackle Hatchery article linked in the comments. They pulled some of the info from the Livestock Conservancy. But I’m curious what ratios other breeders are using?
This season was very low and the hen didn't get overused. I think turkeys are different from chickens in this aspect because the hen has to get herself in place for breeding. Roosters will just grab ahold of a hen and jump on. I am sure it can happen, but none of my toms have overbred their hens even when it was 1:1.
I may have to go to a higher ratio next season.
