COME BACK OF THE EBONY EGGERS! 😂 Not really but if you’ve been around for a minute you’ll know how happy this batch makes me. 🥰 As I posted 3 weeks ago I incubated 9 eggs from one of my two fibro girls (the other has slowed laying being a bit older) after seeing a couple customers hatch a muffed, pea combed splash fibro chick. FOMO set in. 🤪 EIGHT have hatched along with all 5 eggs I incubated from Solos group before I put him on break as I needed the grow out space (4 from Wellies and 1 from an Olive Egger).
Not all are fibro but dang that Blueberry (the Ebony girl) passes down those muffs like a champ. AND THE COLOR!!! Blue, splash, yellow/wheaten and those red babies. Some of the blue and splash also have red in their faces which is fun. She and Rusty really create a nice variety.
Two of the Solo/Welsummer chicks hatched with nice dark Fibro. I see him having a pen with some Welsummers at some point again as I feel like they’re going to mature beautifully - and some traits I really like seem strong with him…and maybe add a couple Blueberry pullets with him as well. 🤔 Oh the Ebony project may come to life a bit after all! Time will tell and we’ll see how many of the 7 babies that appear to have some kind of fibro end up pullets. 😄
